On Monday we will have a new Manager, a Manager that isnt my first choice, hell hes not even my 2nd choice, but I will support him, unless he signs utter tosh from his former Championship squad.

On a serious note does anyone think kenwright is making this decision off his own bat. This is not having a go at Kenwright and obviously he will have the final say on who is being appointed, but to make this decision himself, is a big ask. It was interesting when interviewed on sky the other day, he was on the phone to Joe Royle. He did say from the outset he would listen to the fans, before he appointed anyone, but who do we think might be advising him?

Joe Royle's a fan

Agree 100%. Martinez wasn't anywhere near my preferred "list" but I too will support him. And like you, the thing that concerns me most is his potential moves in the transfer market.

Moyes' biggest strength was his dealings in the market, when he actually had the opportunity.

Being linked already with Kone and Alcaraz is already concerning me. He better stay well away from any player at Wigan.

how to sum this thread up cat gif way!

Two footed, sign him up Bobby/Vitor lad

The bandwagon is behind Pereira but there seems to be little substance to it. Its probably people following 'fashionable' trends on the internet. I doubt if any of the Pereira supporters knew anything about him prior to him being linked with the job!

I don't reallt want Pereira.
Although Porto have only one loss in 60 games in the series, I'm not overly impressed with him. His team has got a lot of possession, but I'm not too impressed when it comes to attacking play. There is too much support passing and it is not often it ends up with a good attack .

Defensively it has mostly been good, except for some errors from the defenders.

Something he has been good at is putting the right players on when they need a goal, but then one can ask why he started with the other players. For example, he has played with Defour (def midfielder) on the wing several times.

In addition, I would call him a one trick pony. He has no plan B if his offensive game does not work. "

Pereira are only coach in Porto and has nothing to do with buying and selling, that is done by the leaders and sports directors.

Kone has proved that he can score goals - I see him as an upgrade on Vic. Alcaraz is on a free and would be good cover. And if he brings McCarthy, Maloney and McManaman I would praise him.

5 Wigan players??

So you want to swap half of our consistant top 6 side with that of a team relegated??? The mind boggles...

At a push, I'd take a risk on mcmanaman as a squad player. And maybe under the right circumstances at the right price McCarthy but that's it.

Personally I think I'd like Ralf as I'd be keen to see how a German manager would go. But the worst thing Everton can do is dither and waste time whilst other teams are getting ready for the new season.

I would hope that Martinez would be looking at players who could improve us if he comes in. After all we aren't Wigan and I'm sure he could target a slightly higher calibre of player here.

Kone is like having a more expensive but only slightly better Marcus Bent. I would be disappointed if we signed him and sold Jelavic. Mcmanaman will command a huge fee which we won't pay and I pose the question what does McCarthy do that Rodwell didn't and get slated for?
