Surely just swooping for him, or even just saying he already had someone lined up, would have been best. And why not just keep quiet till the morning and announce it, instead of what's tantamount to denying it's Martinez

Oh Bill has always come across that way for sure, he has a great knack at it tbh, if it's not sorted in the next few days it will start to become very tedious, I reckon it will be sorted soon.
