Baines isn’t the manager though. He really has no say in the future of Fellaini, Mirallas, Jags etc. It’s different with the manager as he does have a say, and he also knows the ins and outs of their contracts etc.

The media reported that the meeting with Ferguson and Giggs was about Rooney. What if it was about potential tfr targets from Everton? What if they were discussing the future of Baines and Fellaini and if they felt they’d fit in at Utd. Would you have an issue with the meeting then?

I know he isn't. But you used Baines as the example.

Anyway, like I say, nobody will care about this meeting in a months time so I don't see why there is so much fuss over it.

I expected this, but good to read:

If Pereira were asked to help Everton start again in the summer, the fluent English speaker would inherit at least one player he knows well.

Still don't think we'll get him, but I like what I have read about him.

My head is wrecked with all this, I want the seasons over now so Moyes can get off to Man Utd and we can sort our manager out and plan for the future.

It's not though is it?

You write as if EVERYONE wants Martinez which simply isn't true. So no we're not messed up fans.

I was obviously talking about the people who want Martinez in. So what's your issuise apart from thinking this fourm revolves around you.

Wenger was the example I used, you just chose to ignore the meaning of it and pick up on the player.

As I said if the meeting was to discuss tfr targets from Everton and when the window re-opens suddenly Utd come in for some of our players, or our players suddenly ask to leave to go to Utd, do you think the meeting would be forgotten then?

There is a massive difference though in fairness. It’s a conflict of interests.

If for example it was the Apple executive who was leaving and he was meeting with Samsung employees on his day off, you’d think it was an issue. People saying they met their new employers before officially joining, were your new employers and old employers in direct competition with each other? If I handed my notice in today and said I was going to join a rival competitor then I’d be escorted out of the building and wouldn’t be allowed back in. That’s really how it should have been. Sure Sunday was a nice send off and I was particularly happy to see Cahill get the send off he missed out on last year, but in reality Moyes shouldn’t be anywhere near the club from the moment he said he was joining Utd.

It would be against the rules for Arsene Wenger to talk to Leighton Baines without Everton’s permission. But the next United manager can do that in the comfort of his own office. Bill is too sentimental for his own good, I fear that his personal friendship with Moyes, has allowed Moyes to dictate what is best for David Moyes and not what is best for Everton Football Club.

I used the teacher example because a teacher can join a school that may be in competition with for pupils. That teacher will go for an interview and accept the job months before they join that competitor. They work their notice and it is expected that they continue to give 100% to the school they are leaving. In fact no one questions whether they will give their all whilst they are still working at the school.

If an Apple executive was to hand their notice in to go to Samsung one of the reasons they are escorted off the premises is due to business sensitivity. But the executive has that anyway. Just like Moysey will have inside knowledge of us and like the next manager will have inside information of the club they leave.

It was right that Moyes was allowed to work his notice for the last 2 games, and gets paid until the 30th. June, and wasn't 'escorted out of the building'.

Moyes will be history from the end of the Chelsea game on Sunday, and we have to deal with that fact, and move on to the next chapter in our great history.

Reading the 2 page report O'Keeffe has done on Pereira in the Echo.

Really do like the sounds if him. Apparently tried to sign Mirallas as well last summer before Moyes beat him to Kev's signature.

On signings "There are two parts to our job, one is to find the young players before other clubs do"
"And then the other part is to develop them. We look in countries were players tend to have creativity in their game, and the coaches job is to teach them the tactics, the organisation, things that you need to thrive in Europe."

On tactics "I like my teams to have total control, of the ball, of the game"

"I like to see my teams pressing aggressively, very high up the pitch. The important thing is the balance between the attacking and defensive elements, but pressing high is the best way to defend. We have had the best defence in Portugal for the last two years"

I'm sold!!!

I think Moyes could burn Goodison to the ground and half the fans would insist he was completely within his rights.
