This guy for me

Are we as fans, and a club, saying on your day off you cannot meet such and such, some of the people you may be working with, Jesus wept. Teachers get to go into their new school for a day to sort out bits and pieces.

There is a massive difference though in fairness. It’s a conflict of interests.

If for example it was the Apple executive who was leaving and he was meeting with Samsung employees on his day off, you’d think it was an issue. People saying they met their new employers before officially joining, were your new employers and old employers in direct competition with each other? If I handed my notice in today and said I was going to join a rival competitor then I’d be escorted out of the building and wouldn’t be allowed back in. That’s really how it should have been. Sure Sunday was a nice send off and I was particularly happy to see Cahill get the send off he missed out on last year, but in reality Moyes shouldn’t be anywhere near the club from the moment he said he was joining Utd.

It would be against the rules for Arsene Wenger to talk to Leighton Baines without Everton’s permission. But the next United manager can do that in the comfort of his own office. Bill is too sentimental for his own good, I fear that his personal friendship with Moyes, has allowed Moyes to dictate what is best for David Moyes and not what is best for Everton Football Club.

No, but if Baines and already agreed to join Arsenal, and then had a chat with Wenger while still with us, would we be arsed? I wouldn't.

The club, we're a team close to qualifying for Europe every season, we've been unlucky not to get in finishing 7th and 6th. We need a manager with European experience because 7th is the minimum expected by anyone coming in.

I'm just not convinced by Martinez at all, yes he won the cup but I just don't see how he's a special manager, he's probably taking them down too. Bruce guided them to 11th, Swansea are in the top half despite having one of the lowest wage budgets.

He seems to be a good manager but not the kind of person that would kick us on.

Tbf I don't think fergie himself would of stopped Wigan going down. As I said I was against Martinez but have swayed somewhat. Either way it's a gamble he could be great could be pants but that applies to all the guys we'v been linked with.

I think the only manager who could more a less guarantee keeping everything ticking over the same is redknapp but no one wants him anyway.

would it better or worse if Porto lost the league this weekend?

if they win Pereira could stay or other European clubs will want him? If they lose it... well he will be let go without a doubt (the fans are already against him) and be easier for Bill to persuade him into taking over from Moyes.

Almost certainly a re-post by now, but interesting article all the same. Interesting to hear he was in for Mirallas last season. Also, good to know he's fluent in English; for good or for ill, i didn't fancy our manager having to go through a translator during a half time team talk. Feels like a recipe for disaster to me; although it doesn't seem to have had any negative affects on Southampton, so what the **** do I know.

He's looking more and more like a really intriguing choice. Dunno a lot about his tenure at Porto, but you can't argue with the stats, I guess.

Baines isn’t the manager though. He really has no say in the future of Fellaini, Mirallas, Jags etc. It’s different with the manager as he does have a say, and he also knows the ins and outs of their contracts etc.

The media reported that the meeting with Ferguson and Giggs was about Rooney. What if it was about potential tfr targets from Everton? What if they were discussing the future of Baines and Fellaini and if they felt they’d fit in at Utd. Would you have an issue with the meeting then?

God I hope we get him or Rafael

On the subject of Baines, one of my darn sarf mates informed me of a rumour that Evra is off to Monaco this summer.

I'm putting 2+2 and getting an answer. As always, I'm taking this info with a pinch of salt.
