David Moyes had a meeting with his new employers...what did you expect ?
Next week after the season is over there will be pictures of him standing outside Old Trafford holding a red flag,it is big media news and it will be plastered everywhere all over the summer.
I am not bothered by it, but I feel the same now as I did last week,David Moyes earned the send off he received ,but it shouldn't have been from the dugout and nor should it be next Sunday. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't stand in the dugout next Sunday.

Regarding our players,we will have a new manager and he will decide who stays or goes...together with the chairman. These players are on long term contracts and if Utd or any other club want to buy them they will be expensive.

Van Persie apart Utd have not really spent big money on individual players in recent years.
David Moyes seems to be slotting into a well oiled Old Trafford machine. It doesn't appear as if he will bring any of his staff with him, apart from Jim Lumsden ,to make cups of tea for him. I wonder initially how big a say he will have in who Utd signs.

My take on recent topics.

1. So Moyes was pictured with Giggs and Ferguson - Maybe they just met for lunch and a glass of wine, who knows? However, I am pretty sure he is free to do whatever he wants once training has finished, so even though it could be viewed as disrespectful I don't think it's anything to get our knickers in a twist about.

2. Everton need to appoint a manager who is not a step back. we are a team who consistently finish in the top 7 of the richest league in Europe, this job should be a massive pull for someone. I don't see Martinez or Laudrup as a step backwards, I see them both more as a sideways step. The likes of Lennon, Mackay, Stubbs / Neville combo etc are all a step backwards. Hope Bill's emotions don't get in the way and we end up appointing someone from within for sentimental reasons.

Well if he goes about it the way he has gone about selling the club we just might have a manager by this time next year.

Without a manager its easier for the board to get any sales out of the way, then they can offer a new manager more money to spend? Dont like to be pessimistic but outgoings are pretty certain.

Yes he's right to take his time. Bill knows the success of the manager makes a massive impact on his own position at the club so he wont want to get it wrong.

Hopefully he'll be taking advice from a lot of people in the game, including Moyes, and he'll find the right man. I have an idea he'll stay with someone who knows the league but I'd go for the porto fella myself.

Pretty much this, for the sake of his own position at the club I don't think he can afford to make a mistake. If he brings someone in that is massively underwhelming and they fail I don't think Kenwright will be around for to much longer.

Moysey was out with our players on Sunday after the game. On Monday's all the players and staff have the day off. Moysey meets Ferguson and Giggs for lunch.

Are we as fans, and a club, saying on your day off you cannot meet such and such, some of the people you may be working with, Jesus wept. Teachers get to go into their new school for a day to sort out bits and pieces.

I can only surmise why some people are wanting to have a go at Moyes. Moysey is now history and we need to move on and deal with what is confronting us now i.e arguing about who we think would be the best manager to take us forward.

Never ever thought i'd agree with you!

We can't spend that on anyone , because we are ****ing skint.

We aren't skint though, we are going to receive an extra 120 million over the next 3 years.

It's almost as if Evertonians want us to be skint, because everyone continues to ignore the new TV deal whilst simultaneously telling every Tom, [Poor language removed] and Harry that we are skint.

It's like they don't want to acknowledge that the club will have to find a way of spending an extra 120 million over the next 3 years.

You gotta admit it's hard to defend the guy if that is true, and a serious breach of conduct. First I'd heard of it is reading it from you, is this true or tabloid stuff?

I've defended everything else so far but as I said that's not right to me. However not to the point of going mental over it but if he's decided to finish the last 2 games for us, no compo because he's still our manager he shouldn't be having any meetings with that lot till our 2 games are finished.

Martinez lives locally so less disruption, he has bought fantastically on a small budget attracting a lesser calibre of player than those he could go for at Everton. He has had to deal with losing his best players in the four seasons he has been at Wigan meaning a rebuilding job each year something I do not think he would have to do here, I like his Football philosophy and he has Premiership experience. He has shown loyalty to Wigan by turning down jobs at Villa and Liverpool last thing we need is someone like Pereira coming over having a bad season and leaving. Ticks all the boxes for me. Love to see Stubbs as his assistant.

Must say I've swayed to Martinez myself after initially not being keen. My only issues are transfers and being able to play different styles. You can't always try the attractive football, sometimes you have to be able to defend your ass off. Transfers for Wigan against for us are whole new ball games. We need to buy 5M players that in affect once settled are good enough to be getting into the top 4 teams. He's bought some good players for Wigan but at roughly the same prices and there not top4 players.
