Hello, New poster, Long time lurker here.

Anyway, A latic friend of mine mentioned the following to me and after a little digging, I also noticed a thread on a Wigan fan forum.

'Everton are due to hold a press conference on Tuesday with regards to the appointment of their new manager

The Liverpool Echo are planning to run with a story about the new manager on Monday on their website

Apparently compensation agreed with club and negotiations have been ongoing for at least one month'

Although it mentions no names, The lad who told me this is pretty sure it is martinez, and is usually pretty spot on with Wigan info, But when I asked him where he got this from, He refused to say, And just ended up tapping his nose saying 'Wait and See'.

He could be on a wind up, But thought I would post it here to see if anyone else has heard anything similar?

Mate sorry to say this but you and your mate are just making an educated guess, I know a couple of wigan players and they said they know **** all.

Oh god, are we down to a shortlist of Martinez, Neville and Stubbs?

Absolutely heartbroken here :(

I get this too.

Just wish I lived closer to make it viable. And not just an everyday thing to get one.

If that makes sense.

Yeh of course mate. TBH when Ive had season tickets Ive found some of the games to be a bit boring so unless im pretty flush I tend to pick and choose the games I'll attend now.

@Tony_Scott11: "Everton interviewed Weir, Neville, Stubbs & Ferguson for the vacant managers role last week."

I am going to kill myself seriously, I hate Kenwright so f**king much.

Look sorry I apologise. I didn't want it to come across as snidey as it did.

I was after making a light-hearted remark that's all. On the face of it I cannot take Freedman as a serious candidate that's all. He was a no mark player and he's been in management what two years? I understand why he left Palace given his ridiculously low wages there but he's only been at Bolton two minutes.

In my view there are both decent external candidates with half-decent CVs AND internal Blues who I'd rather see above Freedman. That's all.

That's fair enough, thanks. However before you dismiss Freedman completely compare his and Moyes records in the lower divisions they are strikingly similar. When Moyes got the job he was seen as a potential high profile appointment, a young guy with a future, that assessment has proven to be correct, Freedman has a similar rating within the game and after all that is where clubs get their information from.

If its in house, I know Stubbsy very well, he is as nice guy as you could wish to meet, he is in the tradition of Labby, that doesn't make him a manager he is possibly too nice. Big Dunc's temperament lets him down, I could see a player being substituted and protesting about it getting butted by the boss. Davie Weir on the other hand has vast experience, he is a shrewd bloke who reads the game very well indeed, he as never the quickest player but he made up for that by reading tactics. However I'd still have to go for Phil Nevile who like the others has served the club well but he has more connections within the Prem than anyone else at the club, those connections can save us dosh.(y)

Why hasn't anyone banged the drum for Steve Round:lol:
