Wasn't there some talk about Pardew working gratis at Newcastle to pay off a debt owed to Ashley?

Nothing would surprise me with that wrong un.

Llambadis - think it was being paid off during the contract - casino debts at Reading is what I heard.

Sky sport scources reporting it which a lot of the time has some credibility behind it.

Would be kind of ironic if his last game as utd manager was getting beat at goodison!

I don't feel sorry for him as such but he got dealt a bad hand with that squad and new CEO who was a novice in buying players. Must of been a shock in early training sessions to realize what you've got is no better than what u left behind! No doubt moyes has made the situation worse tho.

Would seem a bit silly of utd to stick with him all season and fire him now tho. Should of done it at Xmas if there not gonna give him time!

He took zero interest in youth development at Everton (a major part of directing a football club, surely), and a large number of Everton's back room staff seemingly thought he was an utter nob.

He likes to have complete control, something which being a director of football wouldn't give him as pitch matters would be out of his hands.

He doesn't appear to know how to delegate. A specific role may suit him better (since it comes with its own limitations).

They've got the basis of a decent side:

_________De Gea
Rafael Smalling Jones _____
________Fellaini
Januzaj _______Mata
_______Rooney
______Van Persie

Van Persie was a massive factor in why they won the league last year but he's possibly gone into sulk mode about Moyes pushing him too hard and playing him when he wasn't quite ready to return. And for some reason RvP's relationship with Rooney seems to have deteriorated and now they hardly pass to each other.

The positive spin on that is that Rooney could play in his preferred position up top, which allows Mata to play in his preferred position behind the striker and then either Kagawa or a winger can come into the side.

Fellaini was never what they needed. Moyes is afraid to play him up front in case he's accused of turning United into a route one side and he doesn't have the engine, the pace or the reading of the game to cover in front of the defence. Neither does he have Gerrard's passing range and vision to play like a quarterback. A more progressive manager might think of converting him to a centreback and flanking him with Smalling and Jones.

Davey has mentioned in the past that he wanted to coach in Germany at some point. Maybe he'll do what McLaren did and rebuild his reputation abroad before coming back and taking over someone like Celtic or Newcastle?
