Moyes sacked by United

Finishing 5th next season would be a much bigger achievement than this season, united and spurs will probably be a lot stronger next season.

In all honesty I think this season was our best chance at getting into the champions league
We'll have the extra year of bedding in for our manager/style.

Liverpool have shown how valuable that can be this year.

Do you know what this season has taught me Matt. That we will be better next season and we will be closer to the top than we are now. If we finish 4th or 5th when the dust settles we will analyze where we realistically could have done better in certain games. The mancs, Spurs, whoever can improve all they want. We will be a year older, a year wiser and will tweak the squad ourselves. We will be fine mate, better than fine in fact and I think silverware is right around the corner. Our time will come again mate and it will be a lot sooner than we could have ever dreamed of given our lack of spending power.

If we cannot do it via the league, where over the length of the season differences in squad depth and money can really tell, perhaps we can do it via winning the Europa which is essentially a series of cup competitions with the inherent unpredictability.

I'm swerving between being negative and positive about next season tbh, get a few good signings in early doors and we can have a proper shot at the top 4

Poor Moyes, feel sorry for him now

And that's the best way to be mate. I'm not gonna say we will win the league and I ain't gonna say others will be better than us. I know we are more equipped at doing things right on the pitch though and that will pay off big time. Martinez just gets it, gets it like an ex player who has played 500 times and won 3 titles with us. That rubs off on the players, it will rub off on all of us and somewhere down the not too distant line we will get our rewards. First things first though, smash the Saints 3-0 on Saturday!!

Liverpool...Gerrard has surely got to decline before too long, especially as he's got a lot of ground to cover by himself. They've been fortunate not to have any serious injuries with a very thin squad. And, given their recent transfer record, they could easily blow tens of millions and disrupt the balance of the side.

Chelsea...Terry, Lampard and Cole could all be leaving. There could be a massive overhaul of their strikeforce too, which might not necessarily go well.

City....If Aguero remains fit and they improve their defence they should be much stronger next season.

Arsenal...They've missed a lot of players this season. Winning the cup could be the catalyst for a title challenge next season, especially if they bring another quality striker in.

Spurs...They've got some rebuilding to do and it could take a few seasons.

United...They still have some talented players and, if a new manager can get them playing like a team, they should be much nearer the top.

Everton...We dropped quite a few points early on and Lukaku's lean spell didn't really help. I think we'll be slicker and play even better football next year.

Irrespective of the drama over at OT, this season has for all of us been a season to cherish and be proud of no m,atter what happens in the next. Could this be a watershed for us. I suppose that depends on the last games and what happens in the summer.
