Moyes sacked by United

The fact that phil Neville has been retained supports a view that moyes was the victim of a putsch, orchestrated in large part by the class of 92 with a few lunatics like rio on hand to assist them.

Compare Martinez carefully thought out charm offensive arriving here studying tapes and books on the culture and history of this club using it to revolutionise things by stealth. Even today every chance he gets he refers to the senior pros Jags, Distin, Ossie, Howard etc and talks about "our" club and it's tradition. it's an object lesson in how to oil the wheels to get your ideas working.

Moyes went into Utd and showed Rio videos of Jags!

The man is an idiot and deserves all he gets.

That cant be true? Surly?

Maybe you've got to be a little gentle with certain ego's, he probably wanted to set his stall out, that's Moyes, he runs a tight ship.

I'm not saying he has not made mistakes, I just think the players have a massive responsibility in all this.

Moyes is in our past now, I wish him well in his next job, no point us being bitter towards him, selling Fellaini for 27m and keeping Baines was exactly what we needed, then McCarthy came in.

We have come out smelling of roses, everything has worked out for the best for us Evertonian's, our future looks in very safe hands under Bobby.

Ego's???

Its a fact RVP is made of glass, How many seasons has he gone injury free? Its no shock last season he hardly missed a game, Ferguson prob let him go light in training which worked a treat

So what would you call a load of senior players going round to Fergies house to cry about Moyes then, it's very much like what happened at Leeds.

And even Clough, with a proven record, could not get them back onside, IMO it all started with Moyes going in there and working them hard in training, fitness to him is his first job to do, and the likes of RVP, Rio etc did not like it, they were use to tossing it off under Fergie, Fergie hardly took any training sessions anyway, Moyes is the exact opposite, he's totally hands on everything.
First I've heard of that unless you can substantiate it sounds major bollocks.

Throughout the season there were reports of players being unhappy with his methods and then that plane banner didn't helo him either. He did fail in every aspect of the job but this is when the word of such a big club has to count. He came in July and that was when City had already made moves on players etc and he didn't have the ideal transfer window but I can understand that this is modern football and contracts of 100 years or 2 mean for nothing. But once you're handpicked by arguable the greatest manager in the history of the game you'd expect to last a little longer than this.

Question is, who'd take Moyes now?

I must say, even though he was completely out of his depth and managing the most disjointed United side I've ever seen, I thought he'd have been able to persuade the owners that away form plus a decent run in Europe was something to build on. Turning home form around would have been the objective and if they did that next season they'd get CL qualification. There has to be commercial pressure here to explain why they've gone against SAF. Renewal of sponsorship deals - with key corporate partners looking on aghast at the prospect of hitching their company's wagon to a United where Moyes maybe/maybe wont turn things around in a gigantic rebuilding job - possibly will have helped swing the axe.

Yer story going around that players were going to Ferguson to complain

If you had a boss that you thought was not doing his job prop would you go above him to bring it up?

Never really thought about really. But I havnt had a boss for ages. Well, Dan now I guess! And he is a boss boss.

But I have headed up a representation of workers and approached a boss to explain we didnt think it was working out well. To his credit, he took it well, changed a few things, and all went well.

Perhaps thats what the Utd players should have done?

All over the Utd forums mate if I get time I'll have a mooch round later and try and find it - much hilarity ensued as you can imagine.

Not sure what's hilarious about showing a player videos of somebody performing at a higher level.

Must have hurt poor Rio's ego to be told he had slipped by his own standards and there was other English centre halves now better than him, though.

The truth sometimes hurts though...
