Wonder if he'll be In for any of the fringe lads here?
He knows the lads already and what he'll.ger from.them, ams he knows there'll be players on the way out with the new signings coming in, maybe the likes of bry permanently and someone like dowell or Davies on loan?

don;t think he paid enough attention to the academy to remember those kids. they would have been 14/15 when he was here.

Horrible away kit Sunderland have this year.. Pink!!! (or is that Purple/Pink?) - looking like helmets in those colours.

Makes last season's florescent green effort look almost sane by comparison.
Its our 3rd kit and Its smart just like the green one was

Wonder if Lens gets a clean slate under Moyes the lad is talented but lazy as owt

Good move for him and not a bad choice from Sunderland.

He won't have much to spend so initially, he'll just be tasked with keeping them up. If he does that safely and can consolidate them over the next few seasons then he'll have repaired his reputation and will be able to pick and choose his next move.

Charles N’Zogbia has moved closer to earning a contract atSunderland after he was included in the squad for this week’s training camp in France, according to The Northern Echo.

The French midfielder, who is a free agent following the end of his previous deal at Aston Villa, has been given a chance to show his worth to new Sunderland manager David Moyes.

haha he's finally done it! well done david.

Who was it on here that used to say "Zog me up Davey" ?

@Neiler

If I am honest with you, I think Mr. Moyes's career here stalled due to the fact he actually lacked confidence.

He seemed to have an inferiority complex and withdrew into a shell when we should have been kicking on.

Most noticeably in the spring of both 2008 and 2013 when we were very well placed and looked favourite to take a CL spot until the negative tactics screwed us over.

Then there were the Wembley losses of 2009 and 2012 when he never even tried to kick on after we went in front.

Probably a good enough fit for Sunderland as survival is the only thing that matters there so grinding out enough one nil victories to reach the forty point mark will be regarded as a splendid season.....especially if he reached that figure with three or four games to spare.

On the other hand I do believe the football landscape has changed considerably in the three years since he left us and it has changed utterly since Moyes's heyday between circa 2004 through 2009 so nor will I be shocked if Sunderland are once again mired in the relegation fight.

I like Sunderland so I hope he improves them :)

Pretty much exactly this. He's the best they can get for where they are at the moment, he'll have them a perfectly safe 13th/14th next season
