Moyes to Sunderland

To be fair Van Aanholt has said he doesn't want to play for them, not what you need in a relegation battle. I know a lot of Sunderland fans up here and the general feeling is that it's good business. Crap attitude apparently. Decent going forward but a bit of a coward defensively.

£14m is a good price and it will give them room to manoeuvre in the market. If he gets a replacement and strengthens other areas it could be a decent bit of business. That remains to be seen though lol
I actually like their club and hope theyll stay up again but by the looks of it....Theyre doomed

As you said, it could potentially be a good piece of business as it may allow Moyes to bring in more than one key replacement needed for survival.

However, if van Aanholt goes for the reported £14m and then he fails to bring someone in, or worse Short retains most of it, then it may not.

I'm more inclined to believe that Moyes has almost accepted that their doomed and now it's damaged limitation and planning for the future.

Absolutely, it all comes down to if, and how they reinvest it. I know Sunderland pull off the great escape every year but if they did it this year it would be the greatest one yet. Comparing their squad and resources with Palace for example, they shouldn't have a hope in hell. The next few days are very important for them

Moyes' stock has fallen so much. He seems to have lost his passion for the game.

Must be hard, not so long ago he was thought about as a great manager, now he is further behind than he was in 2002.

I hope Sunderland stay up, it's a great away day and I want more Northern and less Southern teams in the league.

Sadly, they look certainties for the drop.

Totally agree on Sunderland away being a great away day, the hog roast sarnies and crack with the Wearsiders is top quality. Good solid, down to earth footie fans and much as I liked Roker Park, the SoL is a fine stadium to watch footie in.

He was promoted above his ability.

He'll be back at PNE soon.
