Trouble was he did that for 11 seasons and never tried to develop beyond it. Which is why everyone was glad to see the back of him.

Karanka is not the tactical dinosaur Moyes was/is.

He has experience of managing in the Champions League, which is something Karanka doesn't. His teams can also be capable of good football providing he has the right players at his disposal

I think he has it right now, it's just the personnel need upgrading - principally upfront with a better striker than Negredo and better players to service that striker than the likes of Downing.

If I were a Boro fan I'd be heartened to know the system was sound and that only changing names on the back of a few jerseys was the major stumbling block to progress.

Boro are fine. They're in good hands. They just need to stay in this division and upgrade their attack in the summer.

Ndong only a kid I think, seen him before looks better than that, didn't seen to have anyone to direct him there whole midfield had no legs to get about the pitch other than him, looked really on edge all game .
