Sorry Dave. You're making out that Negredo is missing a hatful of chances each week but thats just wrong. Boro dont create enough chances full stop and thats mainly down to the manager and how he sets them up.

I stand by my original assessment in that if they continue to draw games whilst those around them pick up the odd win, then they'll be relegated.
I'm not saying they make loads of chances mate. I"m underlining your point by stating that the way he has them set up requires a forward to snap up whatever comes their way.

Karanka has taken the not unwise decision to make sure he's not leaking goals and remaining competitive in most games and calculating that he can turn enough close encounters into three points to add to the draws they get.

I actually find that very cool and calculated for a promoted team, because too many of them have come up previously and thought it was wise to go toe to toe with teams with lots of experience and a lot more attacking talent. It's a very mature strategy to establish Boro in the PL.

Until it backfires on him when he gets relegated. I hope not because as I said I quite like him.

They won't get relegated. Then watch next season as he builds from there. Gibson is a good owner and this manager won't let him down by pressing too hard too quickly to make a mark in this division.

That seems awfully similar to someone else mentioned in this thread somewhere........

The way Karanka plays is, ironically, risky. If you stay up the fans will let you get away with it for 1 more year. If you go down the fans are annoyed that you didn't have a proper go at it
