Moyes to Sunderland

Nothing stopping sunderland going in for him when we did
I wonder if anyone there had even heard of him before in Sunderland? As silly as that may sound he did seem to come under the radar for most fans who do not have an in depth knowledge of African or French Football. It is easy to pull the French stats up back then and point him to be a good player but i have never met another blue who had heard of him before we were linked. Even last season he was not exactly bossing any midfields and could have easily been forgotten as another player in a poor team.

hindsight makes it easier to suggest these things but Moyes could well have had Gueye playing in a different role than what suited him also, similarly to some of the players out of position here during his tenure.

The thing about David Moyes is that David Moyes loves a challenge and David Moyes is not one for quitting.
Yes that is true, a glutton for punishment as it were. Looking at all the possible locations he could have ended up over the past 2 years, sunderland has proven to be the worst of the worst. Even villa was a car crash waiting to happen so worst case scenario is that he fails the same job others had done. Crystal palace might have been a good job with his style of players there, just anywhere but sunderland right now.

Even he admitted if he had known the true state of affairs at the club he would have given it a wide berth.

He probably saw it very similar to the job he had to do here when he first started but his stock has fallen so much i doubt anyone listens to him anymore. Doubt it helps that he can't stop chatting about us all the time with tearful eyes. Seems like a bloke who dumped the love of his life and while she has ended up going on to better things, he has ended up with a munter.

Ha! that is a good way of putting it now, especially now it looks like we have the marriage and children to come following our promotion and Moyes represents still working in Macdonalds.

To be fair though, Big Sam and Pullis have a decent premiership cv depending on what your priorities are.

I know what you mean blue, just arguing the fact that Moyes would still be employable to many PL clubs who are regularly struggling, Big Sam and Pullis are basically firefighters who are good at what they do whereas Moyes,(although I wouldn't want him back here) with a little backing would still be able to do a decent job for a club with limited ambitions.
Had he been given a little more backing in the January window Sunderland may have had a better chance of survival, however there are still points to play for and it's getting tight at the bottom, the likes of Bournemouth and Leicester are in freefall, so until the fat Lady has sang the Maccams still have a chance.

Tend to agree as I don't think he's got the mentality to be magnanimous in failure, which sacking or getting them relegated will certainly be.

Manure, Sociedad and Sunderland will significantly damaged his credibility. Will he accept a smaller club? A large pay cut? Doubt it.

Still got Celtic to come, when the used car salesman leaves that is.

you would think he could freshen it up with a few youngsters wouldn't you. @Albertini78 do you have any lads in the u23's who you feel could or should have been given a chance or 2?
Tbh mate theres not a lot by the sounds of it coming through. Gooch is on his way back from a few months out Watmore is out for the season Joel Asoro a young 17yr old Swedish striker is probably the next best thing but even he doesn't look ready for the first team  Says a lot that Honeyman is about the squad when he was set for release last summer lol

Guardiola: "I see dead people"

How long can Short take it before sacking Moyes off?

Surely to have any chance they need to get rid now with some decent games upcoming and try and get a few points off a new manager bounce?
