Alright lads, Sunderland fan here.

What should we expect from Moyes? Will he keep us up?
He will give you a hardworking tight defensive unit who puts defence over attack. As long as the scoreline is nil on the other team's side then moyes is happy, goals are the afterthought.

So yeah, the team will be fit, they will work hard, any chancers or egos will be kicked out the club in a heartbeat and you may never win away at one of the big 4 (chelsea/arsenal/united/arsenal) but guarantee 40 points every season pretty much and possibly spot a few decent players to work the system.

I think he certainly will keep you up

When Moyes first came to us, we were in a comparable situation to Villa last season. We'd been fighting, and barely avoiding, relegation for a number of years

He brought us stability and did it all on a (comparatively) meagre budget

I think he'll be just right for you in your current situation

He'll stabilse you and make you a Premier League fixture

You may eventually reach the point we did, where Moyes reaches his ceiling and can't take you any further, but you'll be pleased as punch with him prior to that point

He's perfectly suited to you and will do an excellent job. You've landed on your feet with Davey and he'll get you where you want to be. You can then look at kicking on after a few years and, with backing from the board, actually look to doing more than just survive, which I sense is something a lot of your supporters would want

Only one word of warning, he isn't great at bringing young players through, preferring more to go with veterans, so you may get frustrated in that regard. He will bring through the ones with undeniable talent, but the ones who need more care and work are probably going to suffer. You probably won't notice this in his first few years in the job, but it may rankle as time wears on (As it did with a lot of us)

As the other lads have said, plus your owner will love him. Despite what some may say on here, his eye in the transfer market is excellent. Deffo dont judge him on the Utd debacle, look at his track record with us, then compare that to your last 12 years.
