Mr bates v the Post Office

Absolutely. Most of the victims would not have the wherewithal to hire IT experts to give evidence against the Horizon system.
Not only that , but the PO frustrated and obfuscated attempts to allow access to basic documents that would assist the defence case and completely undermines the intention of the Criminal Procedure Rules that outlines how trials should be conducted expeditiously but fairly

And IT experts were hired, by the Post Office, and their findings dismissed as they didn't like them!
A forensic accountant company called Second Sight were engaged but prevented from having access to the system to examine its working guts. Paula Vennels then gave false and/or prevaricated evidence to the HoC select committee on this, luckily a SS witness was hot tubbed with her and contradicted her evidence.

It was up to the Judges to ensure that rules of evidence and proper procedure was followed at all times. The PO seemed to be able to say and do what they liked without any Judge asking questions.

This whole debacle reminds me so much of the failure in our justice system as in the Hillsborough injustice. People have campaigned about this for years but got nowhere, as in the Hillsborough campaign. It takes this TV series as in the McGovern one to bring it to the fore. Our justice system is flawed. The people responsible won't be punished the Establishment will make sure of that. As in Hillsborough.

Questions: Is Horizon still in use in the Post Office?
Is Horizon used by other large organisations such as banks, credit card companies, tax authorities etc?
Are Fujitsu and the employees involved going to get a kicking over all this?
Yes it is, was reported on R4 this morning. How much of it remains from its problem era I can’t comment but it is now a 25yo system that wasn’t good in its youth
