That would also be ignoring Alex Ferguson leaving which, certainly for me, has made the single biggest impact on that club.
They're not just outspending City now, they've been consistently doing it for a while.
I don't want to get stuck in a loop with you as well mate so I'll leave it there.

But they weren't outspending city for quite a while too. The only thing restraining city is FFP and the fact that their team is already far superior.

As regards Ferguson, city have won stuff under 3 different managers with these owners, including while Ferguson was still there.

Every year is seeing their fanbase grow and their stadium too. That would never have been achieved under the Glazers, who've neglected Old Trafford and because they've invested nothing by comparison.

Aside from on a political/moral stance, I don't think anyone would seriously advocate us taking United's owners over City's.

One thing any Everton fan should surely understand at this point is what the owner puts in cash wise will always be secondary to what is going on with the football management of club. Some people really do have the current Everton they deserve.

This maybe an unpoular opinion (maybe not on this forum 😀) but ferguson is overrated in my view.....he was sooo lucky with the class of 92 that its almost unbelievable - i mean he didnt scout or train these players. Maybe he kept them in line with his authotarian ways..but not much else. People say he created the environment, but i say thats BS he was just lucky with an incredibly talented team of youth players.....Everton are lucky if we get one of them every few decades and then someone poaches them... I mean if it was fergusons 'environment' where was the next class of 92.....NADA a few good players drip fed in from then on... but they then had clout to poach players like Rooney from us. On the back of that class of 92 they had massive sucesses with commercials and they had massive clout in the transfer market. I mean if he was so good why did he only win 2 champions leagues in 26 years - lets not blame the european ban i mean he had plenty of opprtunites but bottled it plenty against the best innEurope. Of course in typical ferguson style he would claim.its all fixed for the foreign teams.....BS!!
If he hadnt been so authoritarian, built up the staff around him, not left such a terrible aged squad when he retired perhaps Moyes would have actually had a chance! With all the money they have it shows the wake and mess he left behind for them to still be struggling to come back today - many proven top class manager havent been able to sort his mess out.
Sorry for the excessivley long rant i really hate that club, ferguson and all they stand for! They are the destroyers of good honest football.

810 Premier League matches as United boss, winning 528, drawing 168 and losing 114.

1989/90 Fa Cup
1990/91 European Cup Winners Cup
1991/92 League Cup winner

Then his class of 92 kicked in and the rest is history.

Overrated though isn't he lol

Best manager I've seen at another club in my lifetime and by some distance and I include Wenger, Pep and Mourinho in that list.

All true, however, this tedious exchange all stemmed from a lazy comment by one of our resident trolls stating that United/Liverpool and Arsenal all have "limited spend" solely due to American ownership, in spite of all 3 having a higher net spend than City across the last 5 years.

Silly me for nibbling.
Mate, the RS don’t spend money don’t you know that.. there skint and there owners are awful. Only 80m+ on a striker

All the best teams have always had the best players so you could level this accusation at Pep, Ancelotti, Klopp, Zidane etc. except the difference being Pep and co. had all their players bought for them rather than Ferguson arguably having a hand in developing the class of 92

Pep had an unreal squad at Barca, Bayern and City and has won a load of silverware - if you think Ferguson is overrated because he lucked out on youth then you must think all top managers are overrated

If we say having the best squad disqualifies success you can only really say Leicester are the only team to have won anything who deserve it and I’m guessing you don’t think Ranieri and Rodgers are better than Pep and Ferguson

If you just don’t like him because you hate United and hate that they dominated English football for years then crack on obviously

I could have won trophies with the players he had in the class of 92 - the team was built for him.
I would suggest that the best managers would build a stable club structure that would not crumble massively when you depart. There is alot of luck in winning trophies and if you are the only club the best players want to go to you have a rather large advantage over the best of the rest.
Ferguson was never brave enough to go anywhere else, yet Pep has emulated his sucess at multiple clubs.
Pep is only 52, Sir c0ckwomble was 44 when he took over manure but was never brave enough to go anywhere else. Im convinced he would have failed at any other club, football moved on but he was a dinosaur - his authortarian ways would have massively failed any where else and he left a mess when he departed.
Pep has won 5 PL titles in 7 season. Sir womble won 13 in 26 years.....even if you ignore trophy numbers, Peps perfomances week in week out are better than what ferguson achieved...PEP is a better manager and would surpass fergy in terms of PL trophies f he stayed with City. But like the best i think he will want a new challenge, not just the same old same old scared of change malarkey.

He would love you to believe he had a hand in the class of 92......what happened to the class of 93....94....95....NADA.
Anyway this is an Everton forum, ive had my say. The guy is an absolute horrible man and for me the debate of whether he was the best is pointless as i cant stick him, his behaviour or his beloved Manure...that enough from me.

The Red Echo is spinning around endlessly repeating the last day drama and Dyche's speech. Roll on the day when they announce some sort of take over, a fair amount of loot to spend within the rules, the departure of Bill and a few others and a feasonable aim of mid table next season.

You do realise that United’s revenue has grown significantly under the Glazer’s, don’t you?

Because they're the biggest club in the world of the most popular sport in the world man !

You're talking as if the Glazers have taken a club like Aston Villa or Brighton and increased their revenues tenfold.

You could only really argue Spurs are the one side out the top 6 who's board has done an excellent job revenue wise based on their lack of success/'istory (but they're a london club which helps).

The easter bunny could run Man Utd / Liverpool / Arsenal they're historically mammoth clubs with a worldwide fanbase who took full advantage of the PL boom in the 90's and creamed the profits (Wenger & SAF in particular).

Chelsea & City are just financially doped prior to FFP closing the door on the rest.

You're ignoring Fergusons greatest achievement, as most do.
He won 3 leagues, 4 Scottish Cups and the biggest of them all The Cup Winners Cup with a provincial Scottish Team.
From nowhere he built a team that beat Bayern Munich and Real Madrid...with a group of Scottish Jobbers..
If thats not brave I dont know what is, he didnt need to go anywhere else to prove himself, He already done it before Utd.

now the above makes me sounds like his fanboy, but I hated that Utd team as much as anyone at the time, but his record speaks for itself.

Im afraid i cant be rationalle about it, hes a toxic old git and the club he worked for stinks.
