You dont need to tell me that
- go tell the PL / Government / UEFA / FIFA who are picking and choosing which human rights abusers they want to get into bed with.

I'm not the enemy ere Lobster I'm calling out the hypocrisy of the powers that be that are making an example out of your / my club. The same way they always do (see Niasse suspension).
Absolutely. The idea that somebody like Moshiri is even in the same league as Mohammed Bin-Bonesaw at Newcastle is incredible. The boys at City and PSG are drenched in blood, but feel the Pep and luxuriate in lovely lionised Lionel. These lads put the "kill" in Kylian Mbappe, but Everton are the danger...

Usmanov is clearly a deeply undesirable person to have associated with our club in any way, shape, or form. Moshiri is an order of magnitude more benign. I'll be glad when we have owners who are merely ruthless businesspeople once more. But I won't be joining any witchhunt of Everton while headchoppers and despots garner plaudits, Champions League titles, the encouragement of Boris Johnson to takeover other great clubs, and a veneer of respectability because they give football fans some shiny pots.

One saving grace is that MSP wouldn’t be here if they didn’t want to make money.

There’s no cash to be taken out of Everton, we simply aren’t producing any, in fact we’re producing losses.

The only way they get asset appreciation here of their stake is through getting the stadium completed, increased commercial revenues, and improved footballing position.

They taking key places on the board is at least a good initial sign of their competence that they realised that there’s no way their investment could increase with Baxendale Kenwright and co calling the shots.
I'd like to hear the full details of this investment and what conditions they place on it.

One thing is for sure: they dont invest in football clubs to lose cash.

My guess is they'll be eyeing that stadium as the driver of an eventual mega-buck takeover and they want a piece of that. Moshiri only reluctantly diluted his share of that future financial bonanza.

The only thing we should be bothered about as fans are that they provide cash for players and / or dont try and claw in all the cash from sales...oh, and that they keep their noses out of team affairs.

You're exactly the same as those Newcastle fans wearing their ma's tea towels. You're not arsed about sportswashing or human rights abuses only that the club you support doesn't benefit from them.

The idea that the UK government sanctioned Usmanov to mess with Everton is more than daft.

So you dont care that the rules aren't applied fairly and that our club is being made an example of whilst others are let off scott free to do as they please ?

Not saying you’re wrong, but what are you basing this on ?

As much as I dislike the Kopites could you imagine their fans sitting by whilst their club is made an example of whilst Boris Johnson gifts Newcastle Bin Salman's billions / shady sponsers whilst we face no money and relegation battles ? No chance.

Our response as a club / fanbase to the whole thing has been pitiful and we wonder why the refs/authorities/var/agents/PL etc. take us as a soft touch to make an example out of whenever they choose.

I was against City being sold to a state with a horrible human rights record, i was against PSG being sold to a state with a horrible human rights record, I was against the world cup being played in a desert the size of Cumbria with a horrible human rights record, I'd rather the situation we have now than have Putin's blood money run our club. I've always been consistent on this.

I was never happy with Usmanov running Everton on the sly and I hate clubs being used to further other regimes political agendas.

I can't control what the UK government does. I can control how I react. Would you be arsed if the PIF of Saudi Arabia bought Everton?

So Usmanov should be exempt from sanctions because he owns Everton?

I think MSP will be here 5-6 years, firstly get the books in order, run the football side as a business and achieve sustainability, get the stadium completed and work to maximise the revenue from that and commercial sponsorship opportunities.

Run well, we are a more than attractive proposition to any big money that's floating about.

Its irrelevant what I think of who should own or sponser Everton - I'm simply highlighting the gross hypocrisy of the past 18 months in football.

If you dont want Usmanov involved in football then sound - just dont be a massive hypocrite and let Bin Salman buy Newcastle, City to win trebles with doped funds & Qatar to buy a World Cup played in Stadiums built by slaves.

I get the feeling you agree with me hence my confusion as to why you're arguing the toss with me.

Stop talking about MSP in a MSP thread, this thread is to talk about everything but MSP don't you know the rules by now.

I'm saying the legalities of the situations are completely different. The UK government can decide who it allows to buy assets that are governed by the DCMS and their rules on ownership. Rightly or wrongly.

The UK government can't choose to exclude 1 guy from a list of hundreds from a list that forms part of their commitments to NATO and other allies for supporting Ukraine cos they're massive bloooos. You're comparing apples and oranges.
