Well it is when the government "pushed" through the Saudi takeover of Newcastle. That should be down to the PL and its policies on fit and proper.
If you look into what has gone down these past 12-18 months you would quickly realise we have been done good and proper and have been used as a tool in a geopolitical conflict.
Yet the club / fans haven't dared speak out.

Right, let's try again.
Saudi and Newcastle: No current sanctions against Saudi means that it comes up on public interest section of DCMS regs, means the government can decide. I think they decided badly.
Usmanov and Everton: Usmanov is on a sanctions list agreed by all NATO member states as well as an international coalition of allies to impede the Russian economy. Alliances mean you all take the same actions to help each other. You can't go to the next NATO summit and say "Yeah, but we're not gonna sanction this guy because we need him to keep buying crap players for a football club". Otherwise, everybody else starts making excpetions and there's no sodding point having the sanctions.

This bit is fantastic. You want Everton as a club and our fans to oppose internationally agreed sanctions against oligarchs from a country that just unilaterally and by choice launched the biggest war in Europe since 1945 so we can keep signing players.
That'd be a great look.

Extremely tame, this has been this way since Heysel really, we just accepted it. It had nothing to do with us, same on playing field, plucky Moyes teams that won nothing being lauded. Useless commercial success, the premier League was our idea and the only team out of the 7 ever presents that never progressed.
Don't get me started on KENWRIGHT, Kirby etc etc, some made noise but didn't get backed. Only last year the Arsenal protest was embarrassing.....
The reds wanted Hicks and Gillette gone and got the job done very quick.

The fact they were basically in administration probably accellerated that process.
Usmanov sanctions were probably the best thing to happen to this club in decades because it’s forced Moshiri to sell up.

I remain unsure about this Takeover/investment what ever it is to be called. The fact is our club is in a very parlous financial state, virtually no doubt on the edge of insolvency I think. No wonder some rats jumped ship and one more to go.
