Just my reaction to that match thread, where some people think he was actually alright...

He was, for me, one of the worst players on the pitch, vying with Baines. He misplaced so many passes, looked like he had a few clangers in him and lost his head at the end and was generally responsible for Bentaleb running riot.

But it's opinion I guess...

Can't remember him misplacing any passes? he was up and down though through the game and never seemed at ease.

He's a confident kid though and isn't shy about recieving the ball under pressure. He just needs to work on positional discipline, although maybe Barry should have talked him through today better in that regard.

misplaced so many passes that he had a 90% pass rate..

Clearly everyone sees it differently, I think if he haven't done that header and the end rampage the picture would be different. But that's footbal, everyone sees it in a different way.

He misplaced several where he just hammered a pass into the legs of his marker.

I agree he was mostly accurate but they were simple five-yarders. Whenever he tried anything expansive it fell apart.

At least that's what I saw.

Stats at whoscored: got 7,5 points (4th best in the team), 88 touches ( most in the team) with 89,3% accuracy; 3 tackles (2nd best in the team), 2 key passes along with Baines (best in the team which is sad because he's a DM).

So did Phil Neville most games. You can do five yard passes all day long and skew the stats so it disguises the dangerous loss of possession when you go longer.

He was knocking some nice cross field balls over to Coleman all game long, I can't remember seeing one go out of play.

His passing wasn't bad it was his headless chicken act that made him stand out.

Yeah but fewer passes and lower accuracy than Barry, who was also awful.

So, basically, stats can prove anything you want to - using stats, I could say Barry was brilliant.

BTW I understand Your concerns @Tubey : he needs to learn a lot more about PL football, this is his learning year. Anyway it was like what his 5-6th PL game? For that is was a good perfomance in a little rusty team and obviously he looked tired a bit, so he definitely won't play against Hull.
