How much have you actually watched him play..
He caught my eye, when he was 17, and played for his youth club Hamburger SV in Bundesliga. I watched him play for a game or so. Then he went off the radar, due to problems with the coach.

Watched some of his matches for our U21, and he was consistently one of our best players there. Only watched highlights from his Ferencvaros Hungary days, but he's adored there. I talked to some Ferencvaros fans and he's their star player (as a defender).

For our A team. He got some time as a sub in a friendly almost 2 years ago against Mexico. And he looked great. He was still too young, and needed to bulk up some more, but the talent was evident.

He got a call up for this World Cup and I watched all the games in preparation:

- Humanitarian game vs. U21 (not a big deal)
- Ivory Coast (friendly)
- Mexico (friendly)
- vs. Santos youth (friendly)
- Argentina
- Nigeria
- Iran

That's how much I've seen of him. He played well in every single game.

You've seen a lot more of him than anyone else on this forum, with that said I shall go with your opinion good man.

Is he actually any good or are people just excited as it's a new signing? He never stood out in the WC for me and hasn't done anything to suggest he's gonna be anything more than a squad player, certainly nothing to justify 52 pages of excitement!

There's plenty of precedent regarding swollen, distended threads

Cheers! I should add one more thing. I would like to think that I am not a type who gets overly excited over a new signing/NT call up. But Besic really did impress at the World Cup. I see great potential and I try to judge this objectively as much as possible (even though I am Bosnian).

Without hesitation I think he was our best player, after Pjanic and Begovic (some Bosnians think he was our best). And really as a whole our team performed pretty well. The crucial game against Nigeria was a blunder by our coach, who decided to play without a left back leaving us wide open on the left (Susic is not very popular right now), but we so had that game too. 1st half against Argentina we were the better team, if only for that unfortunate own goal.

Well according to them he's already signed..da fuq?

as far as I can tell , all 3 parties have agreed everything. its the agent that's been leaking all the news I think.
so the word got out before the formalities of him actually arriving at everton to have a medical and sign his contract.
the club cant announce anything because it could callapse before we actually get him to sign ... ie another club steals in .
