Really? Or is it that McCarthy rushed back while unfit because he's more important to the team? McCarty looked pretty good again a few weeks back before he got injured. Besic can't get anywhere near the first team and when he does he goes off injured.

How many full league games has Besic actually played in the last couple of years? He seems to be stretched off every time he starts.

We have a totally different manager though so getting near the team in the past isnt an issue.

We seemingly have a better set up fitness wise now so who knows?

All I am saying is he is young, two footed and can tackle, I also find his willingness to talk to other players throughout the game to be quite impressive. We would be daft to not see what he can do first.

The majority of games these days are won and lost in the engine room of midfield.
The top sides in this league have a glut of them and rightly so.
Heading into January we where needing to play Barry for 90mins due to injuries and Gana out of the country.
If we want to compete for honours we need 2 full sides of quality.
Of course one or two might look to move, and Schniederlin did to come here.
But he is an improvement.
Besic and McCarthy have had far too many injuries over the past 18 months to be relied on by a team with CL aspirations.
