In what way? McCarthy was played when fit (even out of position), did a good enough job.
Besic can't even get on the pitch.

Too injury prone to be any use, best get him shipped out now rather than be lumped with another perminantly injured player like Gibson.
No free rides, we need all the bang we can get for our buck if we want to make Europe a regular thing.

McCarthy or Besic?

McCarty seems to have gone a bit hamstringy, whereas Besic is like a less lucky Phil Jones. Always diving into tackles the wrong way and injuring himself. Yes he looks commited and fierce to the kid-on hardmen in the crowd, but his injuries are down to the way he plays not luck. He needs to wise up and learn how to tackle.

Moment of truth for Mo. Sure we'd all like him to succeed but whether he's going to fulfil that Messi and Bale beating promise or just show the occasional excellence while overdoing the enthusiasm and getting yet another injury, we will have to see...

I would hope that with higher calibre players alongside him (Schniederlin and Gana) he will be less likely to go flying in like a loon and injure himself.

A more measured and controlling midfield will hopefully allow for his game to adapt to the rigorous premier league and he can become the player we all hope.

If not then at least we are not in desperate need for him as we where 12 months ago.

Really? Or is it that McCarthy rushed back while unfit because he's more important to the team? McCarty looked pretty good again a few weeks back before he got injured. Besic can't get anywhere near the first team and when he does he goes off injured.

How many full league games has Besic actually played in the last couple of years? He seems to be stretched off every time he starts.
