Sorry I think you are wrong. You claimed Besic as a starter for this football club because he played a couple of games in a row in a "period". You ignore he played merely 30 games in 3 seasons. So can you call Lookman and Pennington as starters then because they must have start a couple of games in a row before? Who is missing the facts here...
Whenever he was fit, he started. That constitutes a starter.
You are the 1 clearly missing facts.
2014/2015 season he played in 31 games
2015/2017 season he played in 17 games in a injury hit season
And he missed the whole of last season with a serious knee injury

Yes in 2015 including the cup games. That is 2/3 years ago. It does not mean he was a starter like Barry and McCarthy under the previous manager. I am talking about as "a starter" of this football club. First name on the team sheet.

When he is fit, will he start automatically? First name on the team sheet? That's what I call a starter. E.g Schneiderlin under Koeman.
McCarthy played only 6 more games than him that season.

I think McCarthy may be sold. Let's see if Besic will start ahead of the like in Schneiderlin, Gana, Klaassen and Davies etc. This is a squad game for this season.
Wasn't the point being Besic was a starter? He's never been fit when we've had all the new signings in so who knows where he is in the pecking order.
