Mushrooms

Used to take them loads, knew a bloke called Mushroom Dave, who lived on a narrowboat and used to travel the country every mad season filling bags and bags with them, then he'd powder them and make chocolate bars with them, so they'd keep, and be enjoyable to take.

Stopped taking them when they just started being the same every time. Everything would go purple and green and I'd feel really decrepit, like Mr Burns or something.

Always preferred acid tbh. Started in my teens and pretty much tripped through most of my 20s.
Green and Purple you say ?

you can have a breakthrough experience and that’s really the pinnacle of twisting your own mind to meet entities in a realm not of this.
Terence McKenna (known by some for Shamen's Re:Evolution) famously described these entities as self-transforming machine elves.

Can you say anything more about them? Figment of one's imagination or are they really out there?

Heard a lot of people describe acid a bit like that
Yeah, like with DMT's 'machine elves' it's interesting so many have similar experiences/feelings when taking acid. There must be something to it that's more than basic individual hallucination.

Some have theorised that the same chemical-release happens at death, or with near-death experiences...a blissful all-is-fine vibe. Not sure tho' if that's really the same thing.

DMT is like tapping into the control panel of the universe or something. Like being shot out of a rocket compared to the long, slow LSD or mushroom experience.
Tell us moar

The closest trip i've had which felt control-panelly was acid (again) and having clear vivid images of creating line-by-line (like lines of pixel-deep computer-graphics) long-forgotten objects out of my childhood. In particular i conjured up an old tape-player i hadn't even thought about since the 80's...line-by-line, drawing it into being before my eyes.

But that sounds pretty small-fry compared with tapping into the control panel of the universe lol

would love to hear more.

I took them in San Jose del Pacífico in Oaxaca Mexico. They are legal there. You do a temezcal to clear the body if impurities then drink ceremonial tea. The town is 2300 above sea level and you're above the clouds. They've helped my mental health considerably. I've done a lot of reading on them. There's some really interesting research on how religion was formed as a result of hallucinogenics and how all the great philosophers took them. Also how the witch trials came about as people were getting high off the fungus on barley crops. Really interesting read and a lot of genuine hard evidence

Deffo convinced of the bolded bit. Also lot of evidence that they help with mental health, tho' with the caveat that they can also be detrimental to some unlucky individuals: especially those with latent schizophrenia taking them in uncontrolled settings without any prep or knowledge.

The Immortality Key: The Secret History of the Religion with No Name https://a.co/d/5xYSbE2

This is the book. The guy has a lot of credit as he has never taken hallucinogenics in his life.

Anyone remember this guy who used to film himself trying to do daily tasks whilst on Salvia?

This is him attempting to start his car.

Not sure what bit is the funniest, the "excuse me, I've got to go into space now" or his reaction to the cat jumping on his bonnet and staring through the window
