Transfer Rumour Naismith Bid Rejected

Anywhere near £8m and Everton should have bit their hand off! Even if that means a player light until January because they wont ever get offered that much for him again.

Its not even like his only strong attribute (Effort and attitude) has been there this season. His attitude absoloutely stinks on the pitch sulking about everywhere and not tracking back as he normally does. I said it in another thread that he looks miffed about something

Naismith is not a good enough player to be anywhere near a team that wants to challange for Europe. I like his character an all that. Still we obviously are having trouble attracting a big name player so we have to make do with a fairly large collection of mid table team players and some decent players. Meaning we will finish just above mid table

This is another thing I hear a lot that I don't understand, Naismith was excellent towards the end of Martinez' first season when we pushed hard for CL

Was he though? I remember he scored against arsenal and come on against Fulham away and had a blinder. Hardly excellent, for 8 million pound we should have scranned there arms and legs off

Wouldnt say excellent but the whole team did ok that season. But we failed to take advantage of the greatest opportunity availed to us. We finished above some woefully performing teams including utd _spurs_ red crap etc. That opportunity will not come about again. All those teams have improved with better players. We still rely on the likes of naismith and Osman. Players that will get us nowhere near top 4 this season.

I agree 8 million is a great price, and if someone else was coming in then sell him. No one else is coming in though so I don't think it makes sense to sell, if there were injuries to Barkley, Kone etc it would leave the squad too light in that area

I agree mate we'd be on thin numbers, but it is a fact he is not good enough for our team so sell him now whilst there crazy enough to offer play a kid if needed if any unlikely major injuries happen and sign someone in January good enough to at least help our team

I think that is a great price. Think we should cash in. Doesn't quite cut it and while his goals will be missed, he is never going to set the world alight in that area either.

This is right up there with one of the worst bits of transfer decisions i have seen at Everton. Its right there with us paying 2.2m for Samways, 3.5m for Williamson, 4.5m for Bakajoko, 3m for Simonsen and 9.5m for Bily.

As soon as this news came through that we have rejected this, i knew instantly that we wouldn't be making a major signing and one in the position we so desperately need/crying out for.

A player that is woefully out of his depth, who lacks pace, can't pass and who spends half of his time on the pitch flat on his back. A player so absymal that he has no option but to try and warm the hearts of the clubs supporters by publicly doing off the field stuff in an attempt to balance out the utter gashness he displays on it.

Martinez turned him into a £10million player. Who would've thunk it?

Joking aside... Goes to show how much a striker who can score in the prem goes for - Borini £10million, Fletcher £12million, etc.
