Naismith? Thoughts?

I've watched him and his positioning is fine but I just think he's not very good. But, he must be liked by managers. We know m***s liked him but I notced that at half time in extra time (i think, could've been at the end of normal time) martinez dragged naismith over and was giving him the tactics talk, like neville used to get. But i still think he's not very good. I know feckall, obviously.

He was good in the first half, decent in the 2nd. But once he got tired his first touch went back to last years quality, and passed backwards instead of getting it out to the wingers/forward. Him, Barkley and Deulofeu had some good link-ups in the first half. And he had 2? assists.

Not sure why people are so negative towards him after the pre-season and todays match tbh.

At least Martinez gave him a chance. I just hope Martinez has the ruthlessness within his positive mindset to see that we need effective goal-scorers and goal-chance-creators in that position. His signings will be crucial.

on one occasion he lost the ball but tracked back and won the ball back to Robles. But he's not very creative. He is a striker. A finisher, being played in midfield/wide. We should recognise that.

This is my biggest problem with him at the moment. When we're pinning teams back we need our attacking players to make things happen and he just doesn't have the quality to do it. He's not as useless as he was last season but he doesn't add much to the side either. Aside from his work rate and surprising leap he doesn't really have any exceptional qualities.
