Naismith? Thoughts?

He's got a lot of things going for him except technique. Zero technique. It's actually really sad, if this guy could pass and hold the ball on the floor he would be a monster.

On a side note he reminds me of Cahill in his last year with us, a lot of effort but the ball just wouldn't bounce for him.

Physicality? He had a knack for playing off the striker and cleaning up scraps. He's shown flashes of that, but not enough.

Probably what Jella was hoping he would replicate when he signed, but from their limited time playing together last season, there were few chances of scraps either, given Jella's form too.

Naismith does show the right kind of attitude for us, but not the presence as you say to scare the pants off opposing defenders and bully them into mistakes.

Played very well. But it was against Stevenage.

The concern is that is his overall level, but there have been other encouraging signs in pre-season too.

Was playing well until the fans get on his back for every little thing, its like they want him to make a mistake.
Naismith cocks up, fans moan/fume! Barkley does the same mistake, no moaning whatsoever, instead its unlucky Ross!!!
Instead of moaning at the lad, get behind him and the team ffs..

I thought he was one of our better players tonight - after the teenagers. Good pre-season too.

Doing the job he is asked to do. Good professional.

He is like what Bily was just before he left Everton. Does some good stuff but as soon as he does something bad the fans moan so much.

Thought he was decent tonight, he is kind of like Osman - does some good things and other times he looks like he can't be bothered.

He's an Everton player, get behind him! If he starts to look like he'd rather be elsewhere that's different. But we need every player contributing so support him and see what he can do. I have a sneaking suspicion that he could surprise a lot of people. I just don't get the negativity, to be honest.

Well I never....

Definately improved on last season. Was ok in pre-season and doing ok now when called upon. But tbh having players like him is the reason we can't and won't break the top 4. He's just not good enough (along with a few others)

Gotta remember the fact he was a free transfer, so even when he plays poorly, it's only costing us wages. Last year he didn't show much (or anything) but it was his first from the SPL, he's handy off the bench, but I think only as a second striker or just behind.

Take the hate out of it and he is still not good enough to be in our match day squad. Yes he is hard working but that midfield containing Naismith, Heitinga and Osman can not happen again. Farce of a combination, no pace and nothing going forward from any of them. The assist hit him by the way.

Absolutely. I´ve been one of the once ****ging him off in the past but I´m embarrassed by it now. The lad gives his all and isn´t a bad player in the box.

Did okay, but shouldn't be getting time on the pitch ahead of Gerard would be my main complaint come the weekend, if he's back up fine, but he's no matchwinner when we need a goal with 20 to go, Vic and Gerard are better options to bring on
