There's Risk to this signing (inexperience etc) but also high potential reward by getting in early.

My biggest concern is that the team needs improving now to get us out of the mire. Potentially he does this.

I think this signing gives the squad more depth and different options
I think for me that has been one of our biggest downfall this season
We need new players bringing in who will improve our squad, but also have the right mentality
Only time will tell, but looks a positive signing

Hasn’t that been covered at least 30 times in this thread already? The captain of Rangers plays right back.
It’s more the potential by the sounds of it, so let’s just see how it goes.
Correct. It has been answered on a number of times on here. Tavenier has some brilliant stats making it almost impossible to drop him, regardless of how good anyone else is. The main point being (as a fellow bear has pointed out), Patterson is far too good to be sitting on the bench for us. All Rangers fans know this and fully expect him to move on. It's a sore one to lose such a quality home-grown player. But to have Patterson on the bench until Tavenier moves on (which doesn't look likely anytime soon, despite some occasional rumours) would be a waste of talent. I just hope that people haven't made their mind up before he's even put pen to paper.

He can't help who he plays against. It's still a good return for a RB, whatever way you look at it. I'd also like to point out that he's scored in the knockout stages of Europa League, against Antwerp, who beat Tottenham a few weeks beforehand.

Personally I expect Patterson to settle quicker than Mykolenko. Glasgow and Liverpool are cities with a lot in common. The SPL prepares players physically if not always technically for England. Patterson always displays a competitive attitude when he plays and he shows good touch and awareness. The transition for Mykolenko is far bigger culturally and in football terms. Hopefully both will succeed given time and patience.
