Similar to Patterson, Seamus was in and out of the team when he first arrived due to the defensive side of his game, which was very poor. Due to being coached well, within a year he was a mainstay. The same will happen with Patterson

Often overlooked Der Best Full Back in Der Werld was at Liverpool for 7 months before he got considered for the 1st team.
Considering Patterson missed a good chunk through injury he's way ahead of that.
Big future at this club this lad.
