I didn't see the game but from Lampard's post match words it sounds like he believes he was happy with his defensive form early in the season but not since.

"Pats was really good for us at the start of the season. Then he got an injury while playing with Scotland and since he has come back in, he has still been finding his feet to get back to those levels. He needs to push on now. I thought he did well with bits today but there were a couple of bits that he could be cleaner on. I was always confident about the attacking side of his game, but as a young player I wanted to see him defensively. At the start of the season it was spot-on and I think he really needs to continue focusing on that side of it."

"YOUNG PLAYER, INCONSISTENT AFTER INJURY. NEXT UP ON NEWS WITH DAVE."

Love how you are missing out the bit he complemented him instead to focus on your slag Nathan at every opportunity narrative because you are also a Celtic fan who hates anything Rangers related

Well done Nathan Patterson. Playing well with plenty of confidence; great stuff.

Frank Lampard has praised Nathan Patterson for sticking his hand up for a penalty in Everton's shootout win over Celtic this morning.

The former Rangers defender had no hesitation to step up for a spot-kick and he dispatched it with ease following his side's goalless draw with the Hoops in the Sydney Super Cup. Lampard was proud to see the right-back volunteer for a pen and he reckons the 21-year-old has a strong character.

The England icon also applauded Patterson for handling Jota defensively on the pitch throughout the action as that was a key element Lampard had identified as an aspect of the game he specifically wanted to keep an eye on.

Please don't involve me in your supposed banter. Sevco and their predecessors R*ngers FC are a stain on humanity. No other major club in these islands would tolerate such horrible behaviour on a regular basis. That our young right back used to play for them is unfortunate but he's in a better place now. We took a gamble on a huge fee. Thus far the jury is out but I'm hopeful he'll work hard and improve his defensive skills whilst here.

No need for this sectarian rubbish in a thread about one of our young players.

I’m sorry I simply tagged you as I thought you’d be happy that our first choice right back played well and scored a very good penalty.
