2022/23 Nathan Patterson

Takes 30 seconds to search someone’s name and look at their posts. Hardly stalking. Helps to prove a point as well when people claim one thing and do the exact opposite such as claiming to like a young player but repeatedly commenting how crap they are while also saying they never say a bad word about them.

Prefer the non football threads, fine, I do the same generally. Your exception isn’t Coleman though. It’s berating Patterson over and over. Whether that’s because he has replaced Coleman, whatever, but it grows tiresome. And if you don’t care, then stop doing it, because like I say, it makes it look very clearly that you have a vendetta against him as you only comment about him and his mistakes and not the rest of the squad.

Except I'm not berating Patterson. He's doing fine for a young kid.

This comes down to ability not nationality.

Patterson is learning on the job. That's ok if you're a midtable PL team and looking to bring players through and can afford a few costly mistakes. It is NOT ok for a relegation threatened team.

He isn't up to being part of a leak-free defence when we rely on it so much because of our attacking deficiencies. Coleman isn't the ultimate answer either. He's good in a back 5 all game or for 30 minutes as a sub to see a game out. But his best days are gone.

I've argued for ages that we needed to sign a solid PL RB at this club who can give us experience and a bit going forward. It's why the RB berth is a weakness for us still.

Will Patterson get positionally better as the seasons go by? Yes. But we have to remain in this PL. That's our priority, not blooding a young player who's handing point's away frequently and offering practically nothing to our attack.

Perfectly put yet the Internet warriors won't have it any other way. Hopefully now the bigots abusing Coleman and his countrymen will stop.

This thread continues to amuse. I am a Rangers fan but a Scotland fan, when a decent new talent comes through at Celtic and they have a far better recent history of bringing through youth kids, I am genuinely happy as it helps the national team. I don't hate Celtic, I married a catholic (before anyone starts it's 50/50 in the other family you are thinking of), had my wedding blessed by the catholic church as my wife required it for her job at the time. Celtic are our rivals. Sadly in Scotland there are some idiots blinded by bigotry and hatred. I have had Irish people get on with me great but when they found i support Rangers, never talked to me again, though for 1 idiot there is 99 top blokes to make up for it.

Looking forward to game tonight, if we can't beat Brighton we are in trouble and FL could be sacked if doesn't win these sort of games at home.

Repeating he is doing fine for a young kid and saying you have nothing against him doesn’t excuse the fact or negate the fact you repeatedly berate him for in your view not being good enough.

You nearly exclusively post in his thread (and no other player threads) to jump on every mistake (while not pointing out any other players mistakes) and repeatedly state he isnt prem level and not even championship level.

I said this last week. The kid just isn't good enough for this level yet. A handful of games for Sevco against likes of St Mirren is not enough.

And there you have it. The kid is a defender and we just got hammered by bloody Bournemouth. His job was to defend. And he didn't.

Shocking from Paterson. Cost us the game by leaving the right side exposed. Just gave up chasing back. No heart. No passion. Get him loaned out now and have him learn the basics.

Patterson at fault for the goal but let's not forget the lack of any attacking imagination those last few minutes.

Stealing a living in this league. Not good enough and not even any heart or passion.

That's the one thing he definitely hasn't got. I can forgive his lack of quality and composure due to his age but his lack of passion is a killer. He sees it as an easy meal ticket. Hence he must be shipped out on loan asap.

You two don't know football if you think he played well. Average at best then gives the game away.

Couldn't care less who he's played for. He was terrible today and completely at fault. He has to go out on loan

He's not even championship standard at present. Needs a loan to a league one or back to Scotland.

Maybe in 5 years time. We'll see. But not now; too many costly mistakes.

Groans. Lots of groans. He's a young kid. It's fine. Just saying he's not a Premier League standard yet in my opinion

What did the 20 year old kid do to hurt you?

I have shown my colours but there is no basis for suggesting he goes on loan, scored in champions league, scored internationally, played in a euros at 19, has an assist in every 2nd game for Scotland, boy has pedigree. There were other EPL clubs in for him, not just Everton btw ;)

The lad has a great attitude and is undoubtedly already set for life.

It's nothing personal but our purchase was a strange one as we needed a more experienced performer in my view.

What a sad act this guy is, get a life. Can barely bring myself to open this thread, completely spoiled by two repetitive, boring posters.

If we could get someone with his threat down the left hand side I think that would make a big difference to Lampards tactics and balance of the team. If we’re adding a fullback, suspect it will be at leftback, not on the right.

Good stuff in his game, some weaknesses to be ironed out but overall a player with promise that could, in time, be good enough to be part of a team higher up the table - which is more than can be said for most.
