Said it for a while mate. He wont take a defender on...which is a bit of a problem if you're a wing back. Too timid.

….I thought you said he’s very good going forward but can’t defend?

Powerful runner, i’m actually disappointed I’m not seeing him being more adventurous in the top third. Not seeing that from the other flank as well. Not sure if the WBs are playing to order but it essentially means we are playing with a back 5.

I’m a Patterson fan but he needs to add the attacking dimension to his game.

I think he's worth his place cos he's a lot better than coleman attack wise. As coleman is crap at defending as well means that it would always be Patterson as first choice.

His forte going forward is anticipating a loose ball out the back of the opposition defence and seizing on it. He did it at Blackpool in pre-season. He can also cross a decent ball. But you're right, not adventurous enough...not adventurous enough by half. And it goes without saying he could never be played as a RFB.

I think he’s brilliant

I’m Scouse Irish for the record, @davek

Brilliant is pushing it. He can be a PL player maybe in time. Has something going for him, but where the hell on a pitch Ild put him Ilm not quite sure.

Cost us today, that is for sure.

I dont think that goal was his fault pickford palmed it right to Johnson it was a fluke scenario. Thought he was pretty solid defensively he seems to get ignored by his teammates. Want them to be less trepidatious offensively but thought he was good overall

I thought he’d offer us more going forward when we signed him tbf. Slightly underwhelmed with him so far but has a ceiling to improve.

…..certainly sloppy for the Forest goal. He was following his attacker across the area when Holgate intervened & pointed to him to pick up the other forward, he was watching the game when the ball came out from Pickford. Common error for defenders, forwards inevitably on the front foot.

Its his running power that makes him a threat at the other end. He’s not a dribbler, he’ll run beyond defenders with or without the ball. He’s not doing that & he’s not delivering crosses into the box. All a bit safe at this point in time with neither WB contributing.
