Patterson needs minutes - we won’t know if he’s good enough if he doesn’t play.

While Coleman is out he’s the best option - it’s nonsense to say otherwise.

But situation is so precarious that we probably can't do that. If he's not the best option for us to win games then he shouldn't play, given our predicament. Coleman starts over both of them again for me

I don’t think we can, we have to back Patterson due to seamus age and injury issues.

We don’t know what state coleman is going to be in when back - I know he will never let us down knowingly, but he’s put himself though it because we had nothing else in seasons past.

Patterson has to be trusted and supported to grow and get better.

What were you watching mate? Got done how? He defended very well against livley opposition, they may have turned him once or twice, but he was never totally done by any of them.

Worse could be said for young but he keeps getting selected - it makes no sense for this agenda.

He won the ball then lost it when he could of cleared it against szoboszlai in a dangerous area got done down the wing by Nunez and Diaz both got past him and put crosses in one being for the penalty that’s being done for me as a full back stop the cross or send them back. He did ok considering the odds but to say he didn’t put a foot wrong in my opinion isn’t true. Yes he should definitely be starting ahead of young from now on.

I think the only post I've done in the Young thread was that i thought he played well today before the sending off.

Probably in a couple of weeks I'd guess. Sooner the better obviously. Maybe the cup game could be an opportunity for minutes.

Patterson will more than likely get an opportunity next week so up to him to take it. I hope he does.
