Regardless of Patterson's limitations, he is far better than the 2023 version of Ashley Young, there is no doubt that Young was a fine player, but, WAS is the operative word, he tires quickly and is often walked past.

I don’t think we can, we have to back Patterson due to seamus age and injury issues.

We don’t know what state coleman is going to be in when back - I know he will never let us down knowingly, but he’s put himself though it because we had nothing else in seasons past.

Patterson has to be trusted and supported to grow and get better.

He did ok yesterday people saying he played well and didn’t put a foot wrong well he did the clumsy slide on Diaz was putting a foot wrong numerous crosses coming in from Diaz and Nunez one leading to the hand ball isn’t playing well as his job is to stop the crosses. He’s getting better but that’s not hard as some of his performances have been poor especially last season. Needs minutes just unfortunate that’s here with us and we didn’t have Coleman’s replacement 3 seasons ago. The lad can and will improve but I still think that should be out on loan starting every game, should of had more first team exposure by now and if he would of he’d be in a better position playing for us every week.

I've seen it. He was skinned by Diaz and only Keane covering stopped the ball getting over...with the cost of a penalty we all know, but the fact is that if Patterson (fresh off the bench) had got there he'd have blocked that Diaz cross and we'd have been at 0-0 still.

The amount of slack this waster gets off some people is disturbing.

Let's just have it right shall we: the lad is pony...utter pony, and he belongs nowhere near an Everton shirt...and that's saying something in this day and age!!!

Do you think that Young is currently a better option than Patterson, I really hope you say yes, because, if you agree with me I would have to worry that my judgement of a player is no longer good. You are fixated with Patterson, I am by no means convinced by him myself, but, he is definitely a better bet than Young.

His best games were at the back end of last season when he had Yerry Mina at his side, basically coaching him through every match. It'll probably help him if Tarkowski realises this is what he needs to do.

We literally used them yesterday after half-time???
