I think Coleman would stay on in those circumstances to be honest, but hes not a magician either and he deserves us not to e relying on him touching 40.

I think there is a good player in there. But he looks like a youth teamer coming in every time he plays and takes a run of games to build competency. We dont have that luxary and hes clearly marked out as a weak link and his defending is boom and bust. I dont blame the lad hes never really played anywhere, he cant be anthing else. Until hes playng week in week out.
I agree. I feel sorry for him.

We should be addressing that asap and making contact with clubs to take him and allow him to restart his career.

The lad is in limbo and I genuinely feel for him. But Everton are my concern and we need to finally address that RB position and not put more sticking plasters where we need a solid pro.

If I'd seen anything to build on I'd say yes. But I see a player who'll do fine at a Championship club.

He's one of those players where his skill set is so awkward for a PL club to integrate: he doesn't look too bad at times joining in with attacks, but to play him at RB exposes his chronic lack of awareness of opposition movement.

He's a wide player for me. Buy not one for the PL as in the PL they are tasked with defending as much as attacking.

He has no danger antennae.

Full back is a very coachable position particularly on the defensive side, id be very far from waving the white flag at him. Ive seen him in Scotland be far more offensive then he has been in an Everton shirt - he has that creativity and quality in his locker- we've never seen it here, because hes not confident in his defending. All of that needs to be unlocked and it wont be sitting on the bench here.

Paqueta got the better of him once , he's a quality player.

Antonio skins players much more established than Patterson every time he plays.

….I genuinely want him to be good but we shouldn’t make excuses for him, Antonio never skinned Branthwaite. The way he rushed at Paquetá was poor, he got the basics wrong.

The plus for me was Patterson seemed much more secure in 2nd half. Dyche (like me) clearly thinks he’s defensively vulnerable but only Patterson can turn that around, just like Mykolenko appears to be doing.

I hope he starts on Wednesday.

The binary is simply this:

Those who think he's terrible versus those who think he's slightly less than terrible and feel sorry for him.

Effectively that's the division on this thread.

No, the division on this thread, is you and your other bigot mate very obvious bigotry and those that aren’t.

Hence your two previous bans from this thread.

It’s an incredibly tedious read - if people would just stop replying to them, it’s not even entertaining trolling.

Boy’s 21/just turned 22, played against West Ham’s best player, got really badly skinned once but other than that was fine, particularly 2nd half. He’s much the same as the young Coleman for me, learning, going to make mistakes but enough promise to give him games over the other options we have.

It’s all a bit reactive in this thread - give him a steady run of games and see how he does/improves.

He was never going to be given a chance if you read their posts from before he had even signed for us.

Back when Dave supposedly used to watch Rangers every week while Kopite legend Gerrard managed them.

Young player signs for us and is immediately having hate thrown at him. It’s disgusting.

Sorry are you referring to me as a bigot here?

Can you point out a post in this thread that i made that refers to anything but football and the lads development.

Ive lived in both Glasgow and Belfast, lived through and seen things - that trust me would make you abhor violence, intolerance and bigotry, some of my best mates are Rangers and big NI fans, ive woken up in a Rangers bed spread in Bears Den and been happy for it! ;) Ive coached GAA and tried to grow the games in Unionist communities. ;)

To be honest the fact lads are pointing out the lad played on one half of a preconceived "perceived" divide would be considered bigoted in itself, if not why mention it or the assumption someone holds a certain view point because of their nationality.

So cut the faux bigotry BS, its weak.

I like the lad as a player and want him to develop, but the lad need games and to play week in and week out for that..

I wasn’t referring to you.

Any criticism that comes from you is always balanced and measured, not thinly disguised sectarian bile, like the other two.
