I’m struggling to see how this photo proves your point?

This is taken before yes? The two players are in motion walking. Patterson has been grabbed from behind by the neck & is currently turning.

As he’s turning the other hand goes to his throat & we get the next picture where Patterson’s expression looks like surprise and anger.

Probably because most fight situations don’t start by being grabbed by the neck from behind…

Pretty sure if that's Patterson doing that he's sent off. And I'm sure Dermot" big 6" Gallagher totally disagree's. lol

More important than all the bollocks he put in a really good performance. Better than at spurs & he was pretty decent there too.

That’s two of the best opponents he could face in the league & while he hasn’t been perfect he’s been solid enough & still gotten forward & used the stronger elements of his game.
I think Myko keeping Silva mostly to laying it off to someone else was the tougher task, but Patto was very focussed and did well. He only came unstuck when he stepped out when Grealish went short leaving a massive gap for the overlap ball which Harrison had to scramble to cover, and sometimes didn’t. He’d have been better screaming at Harrison to engage with Grealish and hold his own position, negating their flowing moves. But nitpicking. Very solid and focussed.

On Grealish, the money, fame and trophies must be great, but his role in that team is shockingly boring and restricted. Nothing like his cavalier Villa involvement in matches.

I was at one of his early City games when they were away at Leicester. Was looking forward to seeing him tbh. His entire job was to stretch the pitch by literally standing on the touchline. Then like it was against us, if he got it, he’d dribble at <1mph, forcing the RB into the box. No attempt to beat the man or cross. Once deep into the box, he rolls it back to someone on the edge of the box, they pass it sideways, and if there is no shot on, try and find an overlapping runner on the right wing. They then square for Haaland etc etc etc

It only works because the defender can’t hang a leg out, as there is £100m of dribbling ability that will go straight round you. So the full back just gets pushed into the box, the defence becomes focused on that side, whilst City take 2 positions on the edge of and prepare to overload the right wing.

I suspect Doku would have ripped us to pieces, and is far far far better to watch. Still not sure how well he fits.

The absolute state of this thread.

If I was one of those weird fans of other clubs that explores the Internet, I'd definitely bookmark this.

Some outstanding doubling down from the Patterson haters, lord knows how they'll cope when it becomes obvious that he's the starting right back.

I love, LOVE Seamus, but experience and positional sense doesn't make up for physical frailty. Injuries or not for Coleman, Patterson starts the majority of games from here on in.
I think it's already beginning to dawn on them and it's hilarious. They'll probably join some end of days cult or something

Agree 100% mate. On performance vs City alone I would have given my motm to Myko (again) but in terms of improvement & stepping up to a tough task I gave it to Patto & so it seems did many others.

Only more recently noticed Myko barking at McNeil taking control in those situations. With more confidence in his place in the side I think Patto will do the same.

Completely agree on Grealish too. Part of the machine now.

He hasn't shifted the dial in the games he's had. Don't believe the low bar some supporters have set for him is one shared by the manager's expectations. He's said often enough Patterson is just learning the game.

Coleman will be the RB when fully fit. And if people believe someone like Young who Dyche seems to feel a debt to is out of the RB picture they need to think again.

My belief has always been: Coleman until the end of the season when and if fit; buy in a RB in the summer...we'll have to anyway as Coleman cant get another contract and I doubt Young will be kept on.

Its Pattos shirt to lose, I bet the gaffer is made up with him.

Whatever your thoughts are on him I think we can all agree that this run of games has put him in the shop window. It'll be interesting to see what January brings.
