Joey, you cant teach a defensive mindset. You have it or you don't.

I remember Stones when he was here and I said at the time he was never a top class defender and that he looked a central midfielder like Carrick.

To me Patterson is a wide player. Play him there or nowhere...certainly nowhere near a defence.

The jury is in. Never mind he's 22 years old and 'needs to develop'. You cant plait sawdust.
You set your flawed stall out earlier and proven wrong YET again.

Tarks man that David....all day.

Coleman at 22 couldnt play right back and needed to develop

Coleman wasn't bought by a RS manager from a RS legend on a package that has nearly bankrupted the club.

And bought after a handful of appearances in a cart horse league. With seemingly no other clubs interested.

In case you missed it Seamus cost us sixty grand.

That’s not what you said.

So specifically £16m and then “another 2 or 3”. So 19m.
Then a 5 year contract at 70k a week. (Which is also a lie as he isn’t even on £40k a week).

You then said you would share your evidence of all this which you never did. As you seemed certain it was about us staying in the league which there’s no evidence of.

You are all over the place on this thread. Some may suggest it’s just wumming.

All true.

I'd go as far to suggest the Patterson transfer should be investigated as it defies all common sense and smacks of something else. What we paid for him and the package we gave him, given no other clubs were linked, seems incredible

Neither was Patterson. And even if he had been, wouldn’t be his fault. Go and have a go at the board in their thread.

I like him , no Gary Stevens , but you can see he has potential. Should start before both Coleman and Young IMO.
He is starting over them at the moment and I don't see any immediate improvement. I'd play him when we're safer on points like. He's being played at the moment because we've no other option but unfortunately we will look more solid when Coleman is back in there.

So you are saying as a fact that you think we paid £19m transfer fee for him and pay him £70k a week?

And you wonder why people think you are a wum/idiot.

Patterson was. Face facts. If Benitez doesn't do that deal with Steven Gerard we probably wouldn't have had the 10 points deduction.

Of course that's not Pattersons fault. But it's the reality.

Now I'll wait for his uncle @BurghToffee and other posters wirh Patterson in their names to jump on and defend @DuncanPatterson @NathDogg

Untrue Mon ami

I see a young lad learning his trade ( and there'll be mistakes along the way like they all do ) after a big move for him and wanting him to progress to become what we all want , a long term successor to Seamus .
A long term succesor to Seamus is indeed what we all want. It's been refreshing to have Myko step up and not have us pining for Baines. I do suspect Patterson needs a loan though. When we have cover there it'd be helpful but I'd like him to learn at a club that has the oppertunity to play him and isn't battling for survival.

Nope. Scouted prior to Benitez by Brands. Gerrard had left Rangers well before we signed Patterson.

Considering the 10 points deduction primarily came due to stadium costs and the PL changing what was allowable, it has very little to do with Patterson.

All of which has been explained to you many times in the past. Ignorance is bliss I guess in your case.
