kinda shows the disparity between the SPL and the Prem doesn't it

even kieran tierney struggled in the prem and had to be loaned out
Partly but it's not like he was lighting up the SPL either. Hed only ever played something silly like 9 games for them. It was a ridiculous hail Mary by the recruitment staff/benitez

I don't think thats fair in Pattersons case we paid quite alot of money for him and he's been here for 2 years now there has to be a point where you expect him to start looking like it was worth it. I don't think he's that bad but I also don't see that much from him at the moment he just seems average to me I hope he kicks on but he needs to do it soon.

He was bought with potential in mind, he had hardly played a lot of games in Scotland and the price we paid is not his fault.

It's also not his fault that the no.1 right back is perma crocked so he's been forced to play more than ideally wanted, whilst we've been in a bad way. Players coming into a team that have on average 30% of the ball are going to look worse than ones who have 70%. If Dyche doesn't fancy him at the moment he needs to go out on loan and learn his trade, this bit part role with a manager who doesn't have complete faith in you never works. It just ramps up the pressure.

Patterson is big, he has a good engine, gets into good positions attacking wise. He just needs to work on his final ball once there and his positional awareness when defending. This only comes with game time and trust.

I didn't say the price was his fault and I'd be so shocked if it turns out he's played more than they thought he would I think that is complete rubbish. I think they bought potential and he hasn't turned out as good as they hoped or at least not as quick as they hoped but thats ok its what happens when you buy potential. I think he's getting enough game to help him improve of course he could get more but going on loan might not work out that way anyway and you don't just definitely get better because you've played more games some people do some people don't the quality has to be there its not like football manager where your attributes go up every time you get on the pitch.

For a 30 year old who has 400 games under their belt they might not.

For a 22 year old with less than 50, mostly sub, I would hazard to guess they would be learning all the time, unless they are stupid or just not bothered.

Yes he can learn again I didn't say he couldn't but that doesn't mean you just become twice the player because you played 10 games in a row thats alls i'm saying it isn't a cheat code he might get much better with more games he might not i'm the one trying to be fair to him here by saying I think he's alright i'm not sure he's got the natural ability to be great myself not everybody has its not a big deal.

Hes literally our best right back. Both with eye test & statistically.

There is no logical reason why hes not starting.

He's played for Rangers, you have to be bitter to play for Rangers, it's common knowledge.

Celtic are blessed and holy men, but Rangers? Bitter, basically Devil worshipers.

Please don't bring religion into a footy thread.

Talented young player getting pelts from Everton fans for not being the finished article yet, when he's played less than 50 games in English football - most of these as a sub, in a team going backwards. Never change.

I think if young Nathan had come through our youth ranks he'd be a lot more supported. I think the issue for some is as a cash strapped club we spent big money on an international right back and so it's not unreasonable to expect him to be match ready. I think he's a good lad but had a tough run of luck.

I think this emphasises the point. Nathan needs games.

Not sure that's right saying he was bought for potential. Not at that price given our financial position. Now obviously that big transfer fee isn't his fault.

Except not in the opinion of the football experts that see him play every day and monitor his statistics.

Can you explain again what his transfer fee was? You’ve never mentioned the £48m we spent on him. And that doesn’t even include wages!!!!

You think Dyche is a football expert now?
