2023/24 Nathan Patterson

Six yard box it's the keepers ball from a cross......

I explained my point on the goal. Tarkowski was caught under the ball and he takes most blame...but Patterson anticipated the danger but WOULDN"T take control of the situation - he turned his back on a forward to allow him an easy glancing header. He had no right getting there and then failing to challenge him.

As for Pickford and Tarkowski; let's have this right: the former has earned his place in our team over the past two seasons since he cut out all the howlers, and Tarkowski has been fantastic since arriving here. So whatever they did or didn't do for that goal it doesn't take away that they deserve to be in the team. That cant be said about Patterson.

As I said last week: I dont consider him to be the issue here: I blame Everton for signing him and this manager for playing him when he clearly is not good enough to defend.

Nah you're just whining about a huge EPL club like Everton signing a player for £12m in 2022

Jesus even Celtic and Rangers have paid more than that for players in the past and no one pissed and moaned about it half as much as some of the folks on here are when they didn't turn out to be Cafu

Everton should be spending 10m+ on players in every position (and the bench) given the state of the market
We spent 12 million on a lad who plays like he's worth 1.2 million is the problem chief. If you seriously think this Everton side can afford to spend 10+ million on even bench players then go back to the rangers forums

Sometimes dave you dont get the point you just hate an EFC player which is sad .... the other fullback is more of a concern imo -

I don't post to a Rangers forum

In fact I barely care about Scottish club football

The assumption that any player in the EPL is only "worth" £1.2m in 2022 is brave if not stupid

A season ticket will cost £1.2m by 2025...

The other FB has proven hims;lef ass a PL player.

Do you not get the simple point being made here?

Did ok but him and Garner just didn't gel.

Both looked like they needed some help from the more experienced players.

Give me a commentary on his free kicks & corners, then Dave & his inability of his age 38 years old to get back into position ?
I really think you're misisng this point: Young doesn't need to perrsaude me he belongs in the PL after his career...and his last season with Villa.

Patterson is never ever a PL player.

Is that any clearer for you?

I saw Tarkowski coaching Patterson occasionally today

High fiving each other and what not

That's probably the support he needs

He often looks a bit nervous of late and very concious of trying to play within a very strict system

It means he plays with a lot less flair than I've seen him play with in international matches

What about Onana? Not exactly doing much in that midfield, Patterson needed Garner to offer a bit more in front of him today as well.

I had a brilliant view of him today second half sitting right in the corner of the parkend.
Basically pitch level.
Him and Garner were constantly out of position.
Patterson kept to the shape he was told to hold but the pair of them were having to track Hugh areas of space at the side of them. Thats down to the manager
other teams are well on to
it.
Either get a winger infront of the fullbacks or we are just inviting crosses for fun.
He was blowing for tugs running back a few times, looked knackered.
Looks shot of any confidence and will get targeted every week if this carries on.

This made me laugh. You need to check your eyesight pal. Patterson was clearly a yard BEHIND Kalajdzic when he made contact with the ball. So how did turning his back give him an easy header?

Unless he has teleportation abilities he was never getting to the player to put him off. Patterson was positioned correctly for his man. The time between him ‘anticipating the danger’ (i.e. it was apparent the cross wasn’t reaching his man but Tark’s man) and the ball being in the back of the net was about 1-2 seconds. To expect him to have reached Tarks mark and put him off his header in 2 seconds is laughable 😂
