He has had chances to be fair. I don't mean like 'he's had enough chances now' or whatever, but he has had opportunities in the time he's been here to do more than he's actually done. I feel like i'm saying the same about him now as I was 18 months ago - i'm more than happy for him to be given a go because how much worse can he possibly be, but I'm not convinced personally that he's actually particularly good. Obviously i've only seen as much of him as you have and i'm not claiming that i've got some major insight into him, I just haven't been that impressed with what I've seen of him overall.Chances

9 out of 10 consecutive games before losing his place. Then another 5 sub appearances, before going back in again for 3 consecutive appearances. He never took his chance as far as I can see. But hey, regardless of what went on with him and Dyche, it's not like he's been banished to the kids like Doucoure was under Frank. Dyche has given him games previously, and he's back in the squad, so I would say he might get another chance under Dyche. That's if the manager isn't booted soon of course. We will see mate, but I've not seen him nail that place down yet, and Christ knows it's been there for the taking.

Played alright recently Young, far from our biggest worry (which is a huge worry in itself when your 40 years old rb is your most consistent performer over 5-6 games).
The bar is so low for him that not costing us goals is considered playing well. He offers nothing, and he’s nearly 40 years old, it’s actually a massive issue that he’s playing 90 minutes every week. Cunha will absolutely violate him tomorrow.

Be objective, he’s actually been alright and he’s got a couple of assists. I’d obviously prefer Patterson got a game - doesn’t mean Young has been poor recently.

Why would he not drop Myko and move Young to left back? He was signed as cover/competition at left back. Myko is a passenger every week and Young has been playing better than him.

Yep ideally I think that’s what should have happened weeks ago.
Obviously Young isn’t the answer to any question but depressingly he’s been one of our best players now for about 5/6 games in fairness to him.
