Confirmed Signing Neal Maupay

Goes straight in for Brentford for me, irregardless of the fact that he hasn't trained with the rest of them.

He knows the league and he's fit. That already qualifies him as a better option than Salomon.
Yeah he has to start if available. Rondon can come on for the last 3 minutes.

I wish people could chill a little.

Maupay is of course not going to start. Even if available, he is not going to get more than 10 or 15 minutes.

Teams train together. Working on movements. Working on relations. Have designated tasks both with and without the ball. To throw in a player that has not trained with the team is much more likely to harm the team than to make anything better.

It is also important to try to maximise the chances for a player to be success. A good start is helpful. A bad start in a new club is a potential disaster.

Look what other clubs do. Spurs did their business early. The only new player that has started a match is Perisic that Conte new form Inter. Scamacca at West Ham is an Italy international and a £35M signing. Eased into action and have not started in the league for a struggling West Ham.

Nunez cost a ton of money but was carefully matched by Klopp. And when the injury situation was so bad that Nunez had to start, it did cost the team. Big time.

Bournemouth signed an Argentina international and gave him first start last weekend. It took less than five minutes before his mistake caused a goal against. He was subbed off at half time.

We are playing Brentford tomorrow. They made exciting signings this summer in Lewis-Potter and Damsgaard. None of them are starting league matches yet.

Whether Maupay starts or not tomorrow will hardly do any difference for the chances of getting a result. He has zero minutes of football this season.

Way too often have Everton threw players that is not ready into the starting eleven. Not giving them a chance to get a good start. Ruined their confidence.

Maupay is probably a £30-35M investment. The club need to think long term.
If he signs he starts - we need points not sense

But never did.. same principle in play. The seller holds the cards, it’s pure logic to do all that you can to gain any advantage.. we’d arguably be 3 or 4 points better off had we had a competent forward by now.

I don’t think they’d pay an extra 100k of wages just to try and mess with Everton a bit. Probably the payer has been waiting for the best offer.
