Confirmed Signing Neal Maupay

Solid signing. We have been crying out for a striker, he is an immediate upgrade on Rondon and will challenge DCL or even play in a two with him. Good age, probably not massive wages and a cheap fee. It's smart business.

Just watched a youtube on his goals. They showed him putting it through Michael Kean's legs on the goal line in 2019-20 season, about 5 times :D.

I'm Ok with this cheap signing, played at this level. Offers something different from DCL as well.

Maybe Potter hasn't played him so he didn't get injured and lose out on £15million?

It is worrying that we’ve gone from a front three of Richarlison Dominic Calvert-Lewin James to now Gray Maupay McNeill in all probability.

I was hoping we’d find a new attacking star to replace Richarlison
How have we gone from a front 3 of Richy/Dom/James to one of Gray/Maupay/McNeill?

Relegation candidate in signing underwhelming players shocker. Honestly not arsed anymore who we sign, Evertons next few years is about trying to avoid relegation and if we are lucky consolidate mid table obscurity. It’s going to be a very boring and depressing few years to be an Everton fan… although some more relegation battles might make things vaguely interesting like last season.

I don’t rate this lad but the fact remains he scored twice as many goals as Gordon last season in similar game time. His finishing is awful (so many shots off target) but if Frank believed he could help Gordon improve on finishing why not Maupay? Double the goals for a quarter of what Chelsea are allegedly prepared to pay for Gordon.

Seen a lot of “how far we’ve fallen” shouts. Everton have always signed players like Maupay. Insisting on paying 25m plus for players like Tosun, Walcott, Bolasie or Klaasen is a fairly recent development. The Maupays of this world have generally worked out better.
Yep this.

Seen a shout saying "lukuku to maupey, we have fallen"

Well no it's from rondon to maupey, which is a massive upgrade, we have had a awful squad over the last few years. He improves our strikers massively with DCL being injured and gives us a safe pair of hands whilst he's injured.

I'm relatively happy with him

….I’m ok with Maupay if it’s who Thelwell/Lampard want, but I wonder why he wasn’t available 6 weeks ago when we desperately needed a striker.

From what I've read mate, Brighton when the Italian club offered 15m late July where haggling a lot over stuff, which is why ultimately it didn't happen, think they where holding out some hope he'd sign a new contract actually
