Brummies use it in England, and there are Evertonians all over the world.
Spot on...the abuse on social media is unacceptable and it is a problem of the wider society which happens everywhere nowadays. It has to be acknowldeged and pointed out when it happens so it doesn't happen again. This forum has been very critical of his performances and rightly so. But I never witnessed any abuse against him on here or in the actual ground...as some have mentioned, it was a great opportunity for the club to back him up and back themselves up in the process when he shouldn't have never been signed in the first place. With their behavior of content with the fans, they are pushing the minority to disgraceful behavior...more of that inexcusable behavior will unfortunately continue to be on display as long as we have not going through the changes at the board level that we have been screaming for in the last few months. It's not his fault he's getting picked despite not being good enough (one of many), he's clearly trying when on the pitch. The abuse just gives the board the opportunity to jump at the chance of blaming the fans for something and deflects away from their problems of not bringing in the kind of players that everyone has seen we need.
The abuse on social media is not specifically an Everton problem either, social media just brings out the worst in people because of the mostly anonymous nature of it - it happens to pretty much all famous people, unfortunately nothing will ever be done about it unless they removed the ability to create anonymous accounts and force a verification process (which they won't).
It’s not only an Everton issue, yet let’s be honest and call out what’s a growing trend of inappropriateness within some parts of our fan base.People are not wrong to point out that this happens to every footballer every week and until they stop allowing anonymous accounts it won’t ever change.
This is not an Everton issue as it is being made out to be.
I'd happilly take dogs abuse in my day to day life for what he gets paid on a weekly basisThis is on Dyche again, the attitude of I’m the boss I’ll play Maupay I’m right it’ll be fine. Dyche should never have played him he was woeful in pre season, woeful all last season and a disgrace yesterday.
This has caused us to lose and online abuse, which is obvious would happen. It has also caused reputational damage of the club and not done the player any favours either. Awful management. It was a lose lose situation.
Maupay needs booing off the park so he never plays for us again. IMO people should be allowed to show their dissent. It will do more good in the long run for club and him if he never plays again and the message he is unwelcome is loud and clear without overstepping the line.
Although I imagine some people would forcibly make you clap and say an exact dialogue they agree with in support of him.
He is so far finished here, it’s laughable Dyche had the gall to play him. Him wearing number 13 sums him up. Victim mentality number 13, “I’ve been unlucky” how I read it. I hate that out of my control attitude, it’s self limiting.
The online trolls and large social media are a disgrace though as always. I don’t know why anyone bothers with Twitter etc it is one large echo chamber / social engineering platform filled with fake narratives/bots and has almost zero critical thinking and very little evidence / referencing.
I agree about the fan base. It has gone from being one of the most respectable in the country to very run of the mill. I also think the board and club have done everything they can to publicise it.It’s not only an Everton issue, yet let’s be honest and call out what’s a growing trend of inappropriateness within some parts of our fan base.
We’ve had Toney be abused, our own players, some of them chased down after a game, fans punching opposition players, Digne with the bottle et al.
Yes, these are individual people and their actions, but collectively it is painting a very nasty picture of our fans, which is spoiling the decent majority.
The club are hard faced gets. THEY caused that by leaving us short of actual forwards and having to play a useless turd like Maupay.![]()

Social media abuse.
FFS, cry me a river.
Why anyone would want to seek him out and do that I have no idea, but I have zero sympathy for him getting criticism for his game. He's a wage thief since he's been here. A not arsed-about-it, couldn't-care-less waster who would happily have left for any old tat club this summer if Everton had been relegated without any consideration for us.
Get him down the road before the window shuts. Anywhere...for any price.
