2023/24 Neal Maupay

He received an unbelievable amount of stick from some of our supporters. He was lazy, he was overweight, he was this, he was that.

….there will be parts of most players game for which they’ll be criticised.

We played United at Goodison when Ibrahimovic was nearing the end of his career and the contrast with Lukaku was stark. The Swede went to war with our back four (I think Coleman went off injured), he ran the channels, he held the ball up. He was fantastic. Lukaku on the other hand offered nothing, not even an out ball when we were under the cosh. He was anonymous.

Although great for us, I had my doubts then that he’d ever be a success at somewhere like United. Lukaku was a fantastic goalscorer but he had frailties in his game that posters reasonably highlighted on a football forum.

Agree with all that. Was that the game at OT with a last minute penalty equaliser by Ibrahimovic? I was there with my Utd supporting cousin and said Lukaku needs to watch the game back and study Ibrahimovic.
When they signed him I got asked by a few Utd lads what he's like and my opinion at that time was in front of goal world class, back to goal League Two.
I would have him back in a heartbeat though.

If this useless pile of 💩 starts tomorrow along with Keane then I’m done with dyche. He needs to grow a pair and show players no matter how poor our squad is you don’t perform you get dropped. A half fit Danjuma would be better up top than Maupay.

So when this guy scores this season, there'll be scenes akin to when, at the time, the potential for Tony Hibbert scoring... there'll be riots?!?!

Apparently Wrexham are in for him, but let Everton know in no uncertain terms that they'd accept no less than £250k a week to have him spend the season there.

Just getting in the pre-game spirit.

Was this guy on bench today? Not surprised he didn't start, but dyche chose chermiti, Canon, and Keane to bring on in search of goals.
Has he finally decided he's crap?

Suppose the best way to try and get a player to leave is to show him he's got absolutely no future at the club.
Whilst you get picked as a starter or as a sub, I suspect most players aren't that fussed to leave. But making them realise they ain't in the managers plans whatsoever, may help said player get his agent on the phone to sort a move away.

I don't think Tony Cascarino is that keen on Neal Maupay either by the looks of it :D

Tony Cascarino:
I talked about Eddie Nketiah earlier, who’s sharp and quick and makes space for himself, Neal Maupay doesn’t do that. He’s really a glorified Championship player. He did really well, he’ll get goals on a regular basis at a certain level "

I have sympathy with him. He's definately not a premier league player, but there is no lack of effort, and the ball just will not bounce for him, doesn't get any luck whatsoever.
