Nedum Onuoha

Of course this is a rumour placed so we fans might get a little excited about the fact that we will go for another young promising defender if we loose Lescott. Too bad most of us that has seen Onuoha play (or more correctly not play due to injuries all the time) doesn't rate him.

IF Lescott goes to ManC we will most likely get cash and Onuoha sometime next week. Then this rumour would give us a few days to get used to the prospect of having him here and perhaps change our attitude about the deal.

That said, I still hope the deal crashes since I'd rather have a 50-year old Lescott that limps and have both arms bandaged than a 20-year old Onuoha on the pitch.:@

heh, I went to school with this guy. But I haven't ever conscientiously watched him play. What's he like (other than injury prone)? I remember him being blindingly fast, but I think that was before his youth career from the looks of things.

All of this is propaganda to make getting Onuoha thrown in on the Lescott deal a big win for Everton. Actually, rather brilliant if it shakes out that way.

Why would Hughes make any sort of ruffle about getting rid of a young prospect when he can easily go buy all of the prospects he might want whenever he wants....

I get the feeling that what is happening is a bit like the Chinese water Torture, drip, drip drip. We are being softened up for Lescott leaving and it is being glossed up as a good do because we will get a player and money.

He will go to City, i have absolutely no doubt about that. Does not matter what Kenwright and Moyes have said about no players leaving. They will tell Lescott to say he "asked" to move, thats assuming he doesnt actually ask that himself at some point.
Bill will have liquid running down his leg if City offer more than 20mil for him. As for re-spending the money we get for him. Again, with this board, i doubt even half of it will be spent on bringing players in. :dodgy:

Agreed. Where else are we going to get money to bring in other players? I makes good business sense and (I've said it so many times even I'm getting tired of hearing it) as long as Jags stays everything will be fine (y)

Article sounds a bit [Poor language removed] too.

The Arab-financed club have offered Everton £20m plus England under-21 international Nedum Onuoha for Lescott, who has been attracted by the prospect of starting in his preferred central defensive position.

Really? WOW.

And off topic like -

It is understood 28-year-old Terry has been disappointed with the club’s failure to make top-tier reinforcements and that Abramovich did not consult him over Carlo Ancelotti’s appointment as manager.

He's a ****** player!!! What's he got to do with who they appoint as manager? He wants £240k a week too.

People wouldn't accept 20 million plus Nedum Onuoha? I'd bite there hand off to be honest, accept it straight away.

Onuoha is highly rated at City, more so than Richards at centre back. He's far more proven there anyway and has done a decent job at right back for them aswell.

Can't see it though, City would be stupid to offer us a deal like that. We'd be ripping them off big time.

He currently plays for Manchester City and the England national under-21 football team, though appearances have been limited due to injuries.

Born in Nigeria, Onuoha was raised in Manchester, England. He went to Nelson Street Primary School Miles Platting followed by Hulme Grammar Private School in Oldham. He achieved an impressive two 'A*' and seven 'A' grades at GCSE. He then completed his studies at Xaverian College Manchester where he achieved three 'A' grades at A-level[1]. An outstanding junior sprinter; aged 14 he finished in second place in the final of the 2001 English School's Athletics Association Junior 100 metres contest, clocking 11.09 seconds and beating current Great-Britain sprinter Craig Pickering.[citation needed]

He is also currently the co-national record holder for boys under 15 standing triple jump, in the Sports Hall events held annually throughout the UK, the record is held with international long jumper Jonathan Moore. The distance of 9.44 metres was achieved at Wigan in 2002.[
