How many Ram slots does the mobo on cpu 1 have? 16gb aint so much these days so you'll end up buying at least another module to take advantage of the quickened ram bus. The first at least appears to be slightly more futureproofed. 60-70 tiles at a time?

Literally had it ten minutes, effed about with the deep setting and now fried!

You don't fry a bios/cmos playing with parental settings. Same goes for a processor. Have you shorted it in it's case with a stray screw or screwdriver connection? Turning up the main volt rail to push the processor probably isn't doable in ten minutes from new. It also takes some balls to dive straight in to a brand new machine without even giving it a whirl at default.

parental setting? where? Got me confused and suspicious here NNA.

In seriousness, there always appears to be someone who knows something about everything on this place.

My Dell Optiflex is playing silly buggers and time to replace

I use it all day with around 50-70 tiles open at a time.

I do not stream anything, watch anything of note (occasional crap Youtube about an Ev rumour) but need loads of windows open.

It is like a minefield trying to find the right model. I'd prefer not a giant tower thing but dont want one that is too small and may be slow.

Id guess I want i7/i9 and a Tb

Happy to buy a used refurb of eBay or similar.

Anyone with any suggestions?

I've got the first 3 Leisure Suite Larry's ready to go....

Of course not installed on the HDD. They take up too much space. I have to play them off of stiffy disks.

And of course I have to go into MS-Dos to run them.
