So the tale goes - was Bobby Mimms really that bad though?

Neville himself disagrees with the statement.
Bobby mimms was an excellent replacement for big nev and never let us down,we lost the double by losing to a poor poor oxford side while the rs won 10 games on the bounce to the end of the season and Gary Stevens decided to pass the ball to jan molby in the cup final while we were cruising at 1-0

When I was growing up, Peter Schmeichel was an immortal, living legend, practically unstoppable and bloody scary when it came to 1 on 1s. Scored goals too! Unbelievable keeper.

But Southall was better when he was 40 in an FA Cup final.
Peter schmeichel was the most over rated goalkeeper in history,he had a very very good united side playing in front of him but have a look at how many calamities the fella had during games, even against us at old Trafford in 92-93 a 3-0 win might I add

The greatest keeper of all time, the best of the best of that there is no doubt. Not given the recognition he deserves by the mainstream media (no surprise there).

He allowed one the greatest club sides of all time to defend the half way line and allowed us to play our game in the opposition half for virtually the whole game, every game.

Howard Kendall told the last man to never bring down the opposition player and concede a penalty if he ever got through on goal because he still had the big man to beat.

He was a part of a very good team, because he was very good, and helped make the team very good. What a strange thing to say. For the odd clanger, look at how many one on ones he would save. Only Neville was better at it.

The only fella to have the indian sign over Nev would in the whole wide world have to be Ian bastid Rush:rant:

Speaking as a football fan in general, and as someone who has seen both Southall and the Dane in their primes, they were two excellent keepers. Both made the odd error, as all do, but they were excellent and to suggest Schmeicel is not that good does strike me as a little "out there".

Each to their own, like.

EDIT - actually, not sure that Nev did ever make an error.
