Becuase Everton have a lot of rubbish fans who are counting the days until he is gone, it's a reflection of how small time an eliment of "supporters" are, pathetic really.
We shouldn't even be having this debate, 100% backing he should have.

I get the we shouldn't of gone for him but well we did, that cant be changed.

…i’m almost 65, not sure I’ve ever ‘backed a manager’, I’m not even sure what it means, I’m not sure that it matters.

Fans won’t want us to fail because of who our Manager is. We could win the league and I‘ll be chuffed but I would still be of the opinion Benitez shouldn’t have been appointed. i support Everton, I’ll praise if I think praise is warranted, I’ll criticise if I think it’s warranted.

Getting behind the Manager is a bit of a nonsense. As far as I’m concerned, it just doesn’t matter.

Surely we should be getting viciously angry and criticise people who disagree with us in a very unpleasant fashion? That's the way forward, isn't it? :)

…I don’t understand the thread.

My view is that he shouldn’t have been appointed. Regardless of how he does, that will remain my view. Whether people ‘give him a chance‘ or not doesn’t really matter. I want us to do well but don’t really understand the phrase ‘give him a chance’.
It means support him. No need to hire a team of scientists to understand.

I can’t believe he’d accept the job without guarantees there are at least some funds available. Alternatively Moshiri and the board might be tightening the purse strings this summer in readiness for next summer when a lot of big earners will be off our books. Benetiz has experience of working with no funds under Ashley at Newcastle.

…support him? Does that mean you want me to sing his name? Does it mean you want me to go in the pub and tell my mates I like Benitez? Does it mean we should not criticise him on here if the team struggle? I’m a bit lost at knowing what I need to do to support him. I support Everton but I still criticise.

Like everybody else, he’ll be praised if he deserves praise and he’ll be criticised if he deserves to be criticised. i have no idea how he’ll do but he still shouldn’t have been appointed in my opinion.

I voted yes again.

I’m willing to give him a chance. He’s made all the right noises so far - quite literally, in the videos of him shouting at them while they all look goosed for once.

I’m not saying he’d have been my first choice but he’s here, there’s nothing you can do whether you like it or not so I’ll give him a go.

It could turn out well, there’s only one way to find out.

I like Benitez already, really despised him at Liverpool but I admire that the guy was willing to give us a chance given he could have gone to any other available offer right now.

Look at the coward Gerard saying he hates us so much that he wouldn’t ever come here. Rafael seems like he doesn’t care about that nonsense. And we threw a ton of abuse in the past at him.

Good grief man, where is your self-respect

Let's just start with wanting him to succeed. Let's see where that journey takes you. I'm not going to put you on a dietary plans and look after your finances for you. Just ye know. Support the club.

Can’t wait for November/December when we’ll sit comfortably in 14th place after a long spell of horrid hoofball.

A few of his most devoted apologists will cry “give him more time, he can turn things around, we need stability, who can replace him in the middle of the season”.
The majority will turn their coats and try to convince everyone they never backed him.

But nothing is forgotten, no one is forgiven, everything is recorded. Tick tock.

…I’ve supported Everton since I was born in Mill Road Hospital, Everton in 1956. Benitez coming here doesn’t impact that.

All these ‘get behind the manager’ shouts mean nothing.

Glad to have you on board ye little scamp.

Piggy will come out and blame the Board for not backing him at every available oppotunity, and start making statements about what the fans want to see if only the Board would let him do it.

Drop kick the fat fraud now while he's still on probation. Get a decent manager in, one that isn't a fat Kopite rat.
