Even if the anti Everton sect and the toasty cheese enthusiast formed an alliance we STILL CANT BE STOPPED

Don't like him, I think he's a has been if he ever was a top manager, when things go wrong he will blame anyone and everyone but himself, but I love the blues and will hope they win whoever is in charge. Will still not like him even if he does end our trophy drought.
This, I agree with completely don't like him at all, but him being Everton manager get a chance to do well from my side.

My definition of "do well" is pretty modest, mind you: A serious run at the top 6 (personally see the Euro Conference as a waste of time), reach at least the semi finals of the cups and most importantly have the players give their all on the field. Effort above everything else....

If he can get that, I will be satisfied...

All of the above have been and gone during my time watching Everton.
A few tasted some success, the majority didn't but they are ALL in the past now.
Benitez is just another name to add to that long list. The chances are that he won't be here for long. (this is not a criticism of him, it's just a realistic assessment based on the average time span of a football managers job)
As with all Everton managerial appointments, If he does well I'll be overjoyed, if he doesn't I'll be critical.
Why people feel the need to 'pick a side' and be either 'pro' or 'anti' Benitez before he's even managed one competitive game just completely baffles me.

We need to come together as a fan base because it’s important Everton move forward now.
It doesn’t matter if you like him or not as some of the comments calling him this and that are quite frankly disgusting, immature and embarrassing.
I’m sorry but the mods should be calling some of the idiotic comments out!
We become stronger as a unit if we stick together.
It’s going to take a while to ween out the weak and we all know we have far too many poor players.
Need to give him a chance as the list of managers up for the job was realistically not great.
Can the mods change this fellas name to Richard Head please?

Ta xx

…i’m almost 65, not sure I’ve ever ‘backed a manager’, I’m not even sure what it means, I’m not sure that it matters.

Fans won’t want us to fail because of who our Manager is. We could win the league and I‘ll be chuffed but I would still be of the opinion Benitez shouldn’t have been appointed. i support Everton, I’ll praise if I think praise is warranted, I’ll criticise if I think it’s warranted.

Getting behind the Manager is a bit of a nonsense. As far as I’m concerned, it just doesn’t matter.
Same age as me Eggs, 65 later this year.

I really really think this will be good appointment. If nothing else but because it'll be pure Everton.

Catterick was my first Manager as well, I am stunned at how many there have been since.

Some very average managers in that list....unfortunately
